    Default New Plans Combo Umlimited.

    Hello,

    BSNl introduced lately combo unlimited plans

    http://www.new.bsnl.co.in:8080/openc...mbo_unlim.html

    The ULD1000 plan has 2mbps upto 15gb and 256kbps beyond 15gb. I'm a heavy downloader of movies and vids. I watch youtube online videos and listen to fm radio on the net.

    I currently have 600combo with night unlimited,i have to wake up early. I wanted a flexi plan so that whole day i can surf ,listen to music and download as i wish any part of the day and it should not be heavy on pocket.

    Can anyone list the nomencleture of speeds for the following
    2MBPS/512kbps/256kbps , Which speed supports what for downloading so that i can make a choice accordingly.
    Your precious comments and guidence is required senior members and senior moderators.

    Lastly if i want to change my plan when should i submit the app so that i wont be billed for both the plans,it happened with the previous plan and BSNL still has to refund me the amount.

    Thanks

    Come on senior members a little help.

    Can you explain a bit ? I am using UL 750. It is a fine choice. Gives 512 Kbps all the day.

    You yourself said you are a heavy downloader. Is 15 GB ok for you ? Speed will fall to 256 after that, if ok, go ahead.

    Lastly if i want to change my plan when should i submit the app so that i wont be billed for both the plans,it happened with the previous plan and BSNL still has to refund me the amount.

    You can use udaan.bsnl.in to change plan. It gets changed in 1 -2 days. But if you are specific of plan change on 1st, better give a request at BSNL office and specify this clause. Not sure whether they will entertain it or not. But you can try talking to them and get a solution. There is no such option to specify the plan change date through any portal.

    Use this link to keep an eye on BSNL plans (you will the ones you mentioned too)

    @meetdilip i meant that what is the speed in KB if it is 2mbps,512kbps and 256kbps and what can be done with these variable speeds. Like 2mbps you can watch vids download big files simultaneously.Will in 256kbps i would be able to watch jerk free youtube and download torrents or files simul what will be the speed in kbs.
    You are using 512 all the time is it sufficient for your torrent downloads and movies and videos on youtube. How long does it take to download a 700mb file.And the udaan thing link is not opening. can it be changed in selfcare portal?
    I find the 1350 plan suitable as it gives 2mbps till 20gb and 512 later on beyong 20gb,but BSNL is very bad in leving taxes cess etc. It will surely round up to 1500 bucks right?
    I'm confused dilip should i opt for 1000ud with 256 or 1350 with 512.Help

    2mbps=256KBps
    512Kbps=64KBps
    256kbps=32KBps

    In 2mbps plans tht r generally night unlimited plans the data u download in 2-8Am is almost same as data downloadable in 750UL in whole day

    The best plan is 750UL if u browse a lot,If u can control ur browsing 600 Night Combo is enough I f u r a night downloader like me U should use 500 Night Combo plans

    And BSNL diggs out 10% tax so
    1350+10%=1485
    1100+10%=1110

    Little correction to your point:-
    In ULD 1350 its 4 Mbps(not 2 Mbps) till 20 GB and beyond that 512 Kbps.
    Service tax: 10.3%
    So, 1350 + 10.3% of 1350 = Rs.1489(Approx.)

    correct

    According to reports, there will be minimal buffering for 2 Mbps and above. I am using UL 750 512 Kbps unlimited which cost Rs. 750 + 10.3 % tax. It takes around 6 hours to download a 700 MB movie. YouTube has some buffering, but it is manageable. You get an average of 55 - 60 KBps on torrents and peak speeds will be 60 - 70 KBps.

    If you are a heavy downloader, ULD 1000 is a bad idea. Either choose UL 750 or ULD 1350. If you can afford, ULD 1350 is the best plan.

    Let me know if you need any other info.
