Thread: Should I take Home UL 625 Combo

Hello,

I use BSNL Dataone Home 500C plan.
But it gives me only 1.5 GB free data download/upload.

I wish to get an unlimited plan.The best ones in my view are Home UL 499 and Home UL 625 Combo. I think both of these are same as I have telephone.
But the problem is that it has only 256 kbps speed.
I don't know if it is a good speed.

Will I be able to surf smoothly or it takes a lot of time to load?

I surf usually websites like Facebook and for gaming in facebook.

So, If I am able to watch videos in Youtube, how much time I have to wait for a 10 minute video?

If I need to download a movie of 700 MB, How much time it takes?

UL combo 625 has no telephone rent and you got free calls too. For UL 499, your telephone rent is extra.

256 Kbps is a bit slow, but only unlimited plan available for Rs. 500 budget. Browsing will be fine (was using 256 Kbps for around 8 months), YouTube videos take some 2 -3 minutes to buffer (faster but there will be buffering in 512 Kbps too). It takes around 6 hours to download a 700 MB movie in my UL 750, so it will be around 10 - 11 hours for 256 Kbps. You can leave the PC ON at night and your movie will be ready by morning.

It is true that it is a bit slow if you are planning to download a lot (in that case choose ULD 1350 or UL 750). But if you are looking for a lot of day time browsing and YouTube, audio streaming, it is manageable.

2. Data required per month.

3. Any use for land line to make calls ?

4. Intended use. ie, download, YouTube, browsing etc

I usually watch youtube videos, surf facebook etc...

Is 256 kbps OK with this?

And I don't call much (10-20 calls a month)

I know it is quite slow but I want to know

1.How much time it takes to load a 10 min Youtube video?
2.How much time it takes to load a facebook homepage?

You won't find much difference in browsing speeds on 256 Kbps and 512 Kbps. I have used 256 Kbps unlimited for some 8 months. It was ok (now on UL 750). YouTube videos may take some 5 minutes (maximum) for buffering before you can watch it uninterrupted.

You will get 20 % discount only on Rs. 499 / 625 not on telephone rent.

You can also wait for some UL 499 / UL Combo 625 users to respond.
