Why do you want to connect in bridge mode ? What trouble are you facing with PPPoE ? You need to be in PPPoE to connect more than one system at a time independent of others.

In mode "bridged"
Try enabling UpnP :

DHCP options if allowed. ( this is what we do when in PPPoE mode )

Enter the Mac address of cellphone in wifi page.

Feedback.
Para two:
In your selfcare portal check whether DAY usage and Night usages (02-08AM block ) are recorded separately.
You are using which scheduler ? ?
Check .http://pcgyaan.wordpress.com/

You can use a BSNL PPPoE Unlimited Manager and get it done in PPPoE too. There are many tools available for the purpose. Also in most circles, BSNL automatically resets the counter at 2 and 8 am. So in that case rebooting won't be a necessity. Yep, it used to be so a few months back, check your usage details at portal and see if there is automatic break up at 2 and 8.

Ok. Do check if there is auto resetting of timer at 2 and 8. By that way you are saved of the trouble of rebooting the modem.

Hi experts,
I found this topic and the discussion relevant. I have just taken a BBG FN COMBO 600 Yearly plan from BSNL. I have also opted for the Std Wireless Modem T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI provided by BSNL.
I am new in India and don't have much clue as to who to approach to resolve my issues.

I need to be able connect 3 laptops, 1 Ipod, 1 Iphone and 1 HTC phone together remotely. Currently, I can only connect ONE laptop at a time. The Broadband connection does not turn on when I try to connect the second laptop. Please advise on what options do I have.
I contacted BSNL Helpline and they told me that the plan is not suitable for connecting 2 laptops simultaneously via the modem. I need to opt for commercial plan to get that kind of facility. I refuse to accept the reply as I had used Home Plans abroad and was able to successfully connect all my devices simultaneously.

p.s. I have 3 parallel phones connected to the same line. When a phone rings the broadband connection drops. The BSNL employee mentioned vaguely that I need RJ11 cable and connector. Can you please throw some light on that as well?

Anybody offering an appropriate solution to my problems will be much appreciated.
Thanks and regards

Hi essbebe,
Thanks for sharing the diagram.
I don't find anything wrong with my existing configuration.
I am already using a RJ11 cable from the phoneline jack into a 6KHz ADSL Splitter TC-04. Two RJ11 cables come out of this splitter, one to one of the parallel phones. Another to the Modem's DSL port.
Do you think my connectivity problem can be resolved if I remove the connection of the other two phones?

It is possible to connect any no. of devices using normal domestic connection. You need to switch to PPPoE mode and set a few other things. Try links above and post if you are facing issues.

It doesn't matter how many phones are connected to RJ11 leaving the splitter, read the second link, you will understand.

This is because your modem is configured in bridge mode. In bridge mode, we have to manually connect to Internet from Windows. In this method, only one device can connect to internet at a time. BSNL technicians by default configure the modem in this fashion.

For multiple devices wanting to connect to internet, the modem must be configured in PPPoE mode. In this mode, the username and password is stored inside the modem. The modem connects to the internet automatically when powered up.

Refer to this page for configuration: Teracom Type-II ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION

If you are unable to do this yourself, take help from an expert.

Absolutely incorrect on part of BSNL. Either the chap has misunderstood your requirement or trying to fox you. Modem must be configured in PPPoE mode as stated earlier.

This is a typical problem. ADSL broadband is provided via telephone lines. Line carries data as well as voice. These two work on different frequencies. The two sections must be separated at the point of entry into the home. For this purpose, a splitter is required.

Thanks meetdilip. That's a relief. I remember the technician had set up PPPoE connection when he installed the modem. As per the above link I further tried to add PPPoE and it says "VPI/VCI/port combination already in use." I am attaching a screenshot of the currently existing internet connections

Experts,
Still trying to figure how to upload a word document in my quick reply.

Just4kix,
Ur replies make me feel assured. At least the solution appears to be within reach. I don't seem to need another modem/new plan. Further, the other two parallel phones at home are not coming out of the Splitter. They are coming from other parallel points connected through concealed wiring in other room. As soon as the members of the house lift one of those two phones to make/answer a call, the broadband connection drops. The phone that comes out of the splitter does not give similar problem. Any suggestion?

As I said, the splitter must split the data and voice circuits right at the entry point of the telephone line in the house.

Please refer to the guide that I meantioned in my previous post. See the last picture.

Thanks for the Guide just4kix. Immensely helpful. Specially the diagrams. I will use multiple splitters to ensure that voice and data are split from the route. I am sure the problem of dropping connections can be resolved. Will share the results.

Now for the multiple machine solution, I need further guidance. I have tried to add PPPoE and it says "VPI/VCI/port combination already in use." I believe I have seen the BSNL technician use PPPoE while installing the Modem. I, however, have no clue as to how to further confirm that the modem is set up for PPPoE.

On the Connections Tab of Internet Connection screen of 192.168.1.1 site, I get the followings. Please help.

PVC Name VPI/VCI Category Protocol NAT WAN IP Address
bridge_0_32 0/32 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
bridge_0_100 0/100 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
bridge_8_35 8/35 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
bridge_8_81 8/81 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
bridge_14_34 14/34 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
bridge_1_41 1/41 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -
Data 0/35 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off -

Do not add (it exists already). Instead edit the following:

Data 0/35 UBR RFC2684-Bridged LlcBridged Off
Proceed with rest of the setup.

Still no luck. I am in the "Configure WAN IP Settings" page after clicking the Edit button against "Data 0/35". I cannot edit as the selections are 'greyed out' and currently "None" option is selected.
Questions:
a) Do I have to connect via the Ethernet cable, edit the "Data" settings and then connect via wireless?
b) Is this setting machine dependent? Meaning, last time the settings were done by the technician in URL 192.168.1.1 using another laptop. I am using the Admin UserID and PWD. Do I have to use the same laptop?

1. Are you able to connect 2 machines, 1 using ethernet and 1 using laptop at the same time ?

2. When you are already connected to WiFi in one machine, do you see WiFi network in the list for second laptop ? If so, when you click it, what happens ? Is connection lost in 1 st laptop when you try to connect the second laptop also using WiFi ?

Currently, I can only connect ONE laptop at a time.

How do you connect to it ? Does it connect automatically to WiFi ?

Is this setting machine dependent? Meaning, last time the settings were done by the technician in URL 192.168.1.1 using another laptop. I am using the Admin UserID and PWD. Do I have to use the same laptop?

No, not machine dependent.

Hi Meetdilip,
1. Are you able to connect 2 machines, 1 using ethernet and 1 using laptop at the same time ? No. LAN connection does not work at all. 2 laptops. One on wireless - works ok. The other - after the ethernet connection turns on, the web pages fail to load.

2. When you are already connected to WiFi in one machine, do you see WiFi network in the list for second laptop ? Yes, both laptops show Wifi signals in full strength. BSNL_AP, signal strength 'Excellent". If so, when you click it, what happens ? Is connection lost in 1 st laptop when you try to connect the second laptop also using WiFi ? Both Laptop's Wifi "BSNL_AP" get connected automatically as soon as the laptops are switched on. But I need to further carry out another step. In order to open a webpage using IE9/ Google chrome, I need to select to "Broadband Connection" under 'Dial up and VPN' in Network Connections > right click > and then connect to WAN Miniport PPPOE. This is a manual step and does not happen automatically. I was instructed by the technician of BSNL that I must connect Broadband Connection manually every time after the Wireless Network is connected automatically. On the first machine this step is performed and the webpage opens fine. When I try this step on the second machine, the connection does not happen. It says, connecting through WAN Miniport and finally returns error code 651. The first laptop stays connected.

Currently, I can only connect ONE laptop at a time.

How do you connect to it ? Does it connect automatically to WiFi ?
Yes. But as mentioned above, the Broadband connection is a manual step.
p.s. Using the configuration link provided by you in post #41, I have tried to edit the "Data" configuration. But failed as I am unable to edit the existing WAN setup. On step "Configure WAN IP Settings", I cannot edit as the selections are 'greyed out' and currently "None" option is selected. See my reply in post #42. I think this is the issue.

It seems you are not in PPPoE, switch to it and check.
