Default what modem router should i go with ?

    Hello everyone,
Iam planning to buy a adsl2modem+router.

    Two are in my budget
    Here are the two
    1. D-Link Wireless N 300 ADSL2+ 4-port Ethernet Router with USB (DSL-2750U) price is rs. 2730.

    2. The Linksys WAG120N Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router
    price rs. 2990.

or any other you advice in this range ?

what i have to choose in both and are they capable to make my home wireless?
i mean can i connect my (cell phone, laptop, printer etc.) with it.
internet and file shearing etc. is possible with this type of device ?
    please advice .
    Thanks in advance.

    1. D-Link Wireless N 300 ADSL2+ 4-port Ethernet Router with USB (DSL-2750U) price is rs. 2730.

similar to wa 3002_g4 Beetel450BXi etc
Check whether WDM or WDS mode is available.
This will enable connecting two wifi routers without wires ( rj45)
    to increase the range.

Para two: Yes all will work in wifi mode.
    Mention the present modem/router model/make/number.
You can buy a stand alone wifi router also .
to use with existing adsl modem.

    General:
    1.
Zte zxdsl831a11 modem (no wifi mode )
This is an adsl MODEM and connects a single computer. usually.
( with USB port if available) another computer can be connected >
    etc.
    2.
    WIFI ROUTER
Netgear WGRr614V9 etc ( starting price Rs 1500/=)
Works with adsl modem and allows 4 computers to be connected with cable and laptops etc in WIFI mode.
( usual range about 20 to 30 feet of radius ( *conditions apply )
    3.
    3-in 1:
    Adsl2Modem_4port lan+ wifi router.
    Example Beetel 450BXI WA3002_g4 zte zxdsl 531B dna A212 -I etc.
    ( all same )
    and models you have quoted.
Try to get on rent from BSNL if available and issued. . Rs 80/= per month.

    4.
Usually wifi router is upgraded, for more range/ WDS system etc.

I am currently using a Zte zxdsl831a11 modem

    http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=567
Check this model with WDS. DSL2640B.

    http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/d...del=TL-WR743ND
    Buy same model two pieces.
Any Landline based Broadband service requires an ADSL modem
which is connected to desktop/laptop. to connect to Internet.
Check in "Broadband How to..." forum guides by @Just4kix.

PC Desktop need not have a wireless lan card.

Then we use an external wifi router to connect laptops etc in Wifi
    mode.

If the area of activity is say within a radius of say 30 feet any low priced wifi router will work .
Two wifi routers can be connected with RJ45 cable also to increase range.

List the number of systems you will use.
Area of activity in wifi mode ( laptops cellphones etc )
height involved ( ground floor +4th floor etc )

As your requirement does not involve distance more than 20 or 30 feet radius of activity ANY 3-in one adslmodem+3lanPort +wif router will do.
    (a)
Availability in local market. Less than Rs 2500/=
    May be Beetel450TCI /Binatone Wifi model dte 685 W( number ?)
    Based on Utstar WA3002-g1 wifi
    (b)
SEM ITI DNA A212-I beetel 450BXI Dlink dsl2750 etc
    ( based on WA3002_g4 )
    (c)
Teracom AR800v3, AN1 etc based on Siemens C2110 +wifi module
    (d)
    commercial models Netgear/Dlink/Linksys/Buffalo/TP link etc
    (e)
or buy a stand alone ADSL modem and standalone wifi router.
more choice in selecting wifi router for range/antenna gain/WDM etc.
    see a list:
TP-Link wireless (i4wifi e-shop - WiFi components for whole world)

    (f)
Get on rent any 3-in 1 model from BSNL ( if still available on rent ) and try Lowest price about Rs 1800/=

Check in ebay.in for prices etc.

Netgear is a good brand. I should say it is a premium brand and may cost more than other similar models.

I use a D-Link 2750U, and it is more than adequate for your requirement. The 2730U is available for around 2K, but lacks a USB (if you want std printer / Network storage attached later). I use a WD NAS LiveBook attached thru LAN port, and a HP printer on USB. I have a couple of gaming systems, few laptops etc permanently connected to this, and have never suffered range-loss in a penthouse apartment, choc-a-bloc with wireless devices.
The ADSL modem router is unique in that you don't need to worry about 2 devices, and the two models you mentioned Linksys WAG120N and D-Link 2730U / 2750U are the popular devices here. I don't quite understand what WDS etc have to do with your problem.

    hi,
thank you all for your valuable suggestion's.
    i'll buy the D-Link 2750U next week.
iam going to Delhi and i think NEHRU PLACE is the best place to buy this modem.maybe i'll save few bucks. Any shop you can tell me there with good price.
And one confusion...-> 1 of my friend told me that i'll always get problem with the modem i buy from outside i mean except bsnl provided modems- like no stable link ,connecting problem etc. is it true ? please clear the confusion .and if i have to buy stand alone router without modem then what model and make it should be ?
    Thanks a lot.

I think G types devices will work on all current WiFi devices. Most N types offer b/g/n, but not all WiFi devices are support N type. But it is certainly preferable to go for an N type router.

Angry Can you help me please in selection of modem router?

I am using BSNL Broad Band unlimited plan. I want to purchase a modem router which can work with BSNL BB with WiFi capabilities. I have read technical specifications of Linksys X2000 & X3000, Belkin D600 & 750 N series, Asus DSL 10, Asus 11 & DSL-12U modem routers.

My purpose is that it should cover 100 ft length and another 100 ft height in all directions in various rooms. It should work in three dimension way.

It should have admimistrator and guests interface along with pass words. I will prefer 4-6 SSID. I would like to connect different computers but these must be fully secured from administrations side and also, from guests side.

Please advise. I am confused. Best regards

Same brand preferred. TP link or ASUS

with higher output and detachable antenna.

Position as far as possible near the window at the highest height
Use two units same type if required.( Basic ADSl modem required )
