Thread: How long does bsnl take to give a New Connection

I'm going to change my bb to bsnl but was wondering how many days do i have to wait to get my new connection. I don't have a landline either and have registered for both. Will it be okay if i do away with my current isp right now or should i wait for the new connection first. I read somewhere they take more than a month sometimes :O
btw I've opted for the bbg fn 500 plan (upto 2mbps). I was also wondering what speed 'd i get for my torrents at night after i've forwarded the ports and setup my client and everything. Also what is the avg upload speed in this plan?

1. Manual application for new connection to BSNL will be at mercy of your exchange staff. It depends heavily on their efficiency that how long it will take. Normally it takes minimum 2 weeks to get it done. So it is better that you keep your current connection till you get a BSNL connection.

2. You can use this link and apply online. It is known for good results. May be it will be done in a week or so.

3. I think you meant BBG FN Combo 500. It has mere 1.5 GB as day limit. Better pay Rs. 100 more and opt for BBG FN Combo 600 which gives 2.5 GB limit for day time.

4. For night unlimited expect somewhere around 200 KBps. But in some areas, due to line congestion and many other reasons some members report that the speed fall to 150 KBps or around. But I will say still it is good speed as most ISPs offer only 1 Mbps for night unlimited.
