Default Help needed! VMC AN1020 or ITI DNA-A211 Which is better?

I have been using BSNL broadband for more than 5 years and am quite satisfied with the service provided.

I have decided to replace my SmartAX MT882 modem with a wifi modem. Few months back I happened to use a borrowed ITI DNA-A211 wifi modem and I was happy with the wifi performance.

However upon enquiry with bsnl csc i came to know that they are supplying only VMC AN1020 wifi modems in my area. But I find in many forum threads that users are having issues with this modem particularly with the wifi connectivity, signal disruption etc.I had similar issues with a Netgear N-150 (DGN100) wifi modem. Several calls to customer support to debug the problem proved futile. I don't want to face this headache again!

Since I am satisfied with DNA-A211 modem's performance I am in a dilemma as to whether I should go for the VMC AN1020 modem supplied by bsnl or purchase DNA-A212(the upgraded version of DNA-A211) from SemIndia.

I request your advice on which of the two models I should go for.

DNA A212-I is same as Beetel450BXI/WA3002-g4/Sl2_141/SNN1600
    ZXdsl 531B etc.
VMC AN1020 is based on Siemens c2110 ( +wifi) and same as TeracomAR 800V3, and other models ( see calcutta Bsnl link )

Another group based on WA3002-G1 is Beetel 450TCI/Binatone dtw ,,,
    etc.

    Dlink 3-in 1 model DSL2750 same as 1st group
If you plan to subscribe to IPTV etc choose model checking this facility.

If BSNL provides/supplies AN1020 the cost will be the lowest for a 3-in 1 model

    see links below.

    @essbebe: Thanks for the reply.

I gather that the VMC model is more sophisticated than DNA-A212. But I am looking for a modem which has :
    quick setup,
    good wifi connectivity,
good signal reception / minimum signal drop,
    reliable and long lasting.

The Netgear N-150 (DGN1000) wireless modem had various issues like poor signal strength (if door/windows are closed), signal drops once in 45 to 60 minutes, modem heating up etc. Does the VMC model have such issues as I dont want to suffer again!

The VMC model is available from bsnl for Rs 1125 (@ half rate upon annual payment) and the DNA-A212 is available from semindia for approx. Rs 1700.

Keeping above points in mind could you please let me know which is better. Thanks.

I have been using both the modems for quite some time now.... both are equally good.... just recently, the power adopter of DNA went bad even though I use it with a UPS.
The VMC model is good both in looks and performance... in addition, it also has a VoIP port...

    choice is yours now....

I bought a Teracom wifi modem from BSNL. Performance is good w.r.t to broadband speed and wireless connectivity. Absolutely happy with this one. Before purchasing I checked with a few users and all their opinion about this modem is positive. Personally would not advice VMC. Check with your exchange for a Teracom model if not wait for sometime till fresh stock arrives. I understand that nowadays either VMC or Teracom models are being distributed. DNA A211 seems to have been phased out. If you are particular about DNA A212 modem you can purchase it directly from SemIndia for Rs 1700.
