Thread: Content Encoding Error?

I am getting this error message on many websites.. bbc sport, The Pirate Bay(can't browse torrents) etc..I can't access many webpages for last 2-3 days because of this error..

What is causing this problem? I tried opening the site with firefox, Chrome, Opera and even Internet explorer..But i still get same error..I've tried using Open DNS..Any ideas what is causing this "Content encoding error" problem? Is this a problem with ISP?

1. Mention modem - model and make.

2. Did you try Opera - Turbo mode ? If not, try and post the result.

3. Are these sites opening using proxy ?

4. What is the MTU value set in modem ? 1492 ? Try 1480, 1490 and additions of 10 till you get a result. It is a trial and error method and values may differ from one person to other. But mostly 1480 or near values will work.

I had no problems opening the websites when i set opera to turbo mode..Thanks for suggesting that..

And i also checked out essbebe's guide on MTU's and it really helped out..I lowered my MTU values and now i can open all websites perfectly! Thanks a lot for taking time to help me out!
