Thread: Facebook not opening with D link router and modem

Hi,

I am using Dlink Dsl 2520u modem and dlink DI-524 router alond with that in my BSNL broadband connection...

I am not being able to access facebook on one of my windows pc and macbook,

it displays..waiting for facebook at the bottom of the page..and after that error in loading....on rest of the pc or laptops its works fine..rest every site is working fine too...i tried pinging facebook.com in command prompt and it gets the reply...but then in browser its not opening...

another thing...if i install any new browser for the first time facebook will run in it...and after i login it stops working....my modem has one direct lan port and if i connect tht pc and lappy directly frm tht port..facebook works fine..

PLEASE PLEASE HELP..I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING...RESETTING...FORMATTING...NOTHING WORKS.

1. Which browser are you using ? Version ? Try the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

2. Mention the DNS in use. Is it any specific BSNL DNS or have you selected to obtain DNS automatically ?

Try Open DNS

208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

or

Google DNS

8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4

3. Use Turbo mode in Opera browser and check if those sites are opening.

4. Check using a proxy and check if it is opening.

5. Try MTU values as 1480, 1490 and other additions of 10. Try trial and error method.

i have tried google chrome and mozilla and almost every browser available...and latest versions of all..as i said in every new browser facebook opens for the first time...after that it dosent....and yes i tried turbo mode in opera too..no use....

i dnt use specific dns servers....i use automatically detect...

and ok ill try that MTU thing but hw is this possible that in rest of the pc and laptop it works perfectly fine but not in one lappy and one pc?

Try Only with DSL2520U. each PC. ( Windows and with MAC OS)
Similar to Beetel 220BXI group.

hey i tried changing that MTU....mine came 1490....i updated that and deleted the browsing data of chrome and tried to run facebook...it worked...but as always it again stopped after initially working..just after login it stopped working....wht to do now

Eliminates browsers/OS/systems/firewalls etc.

You can set to clear all private data on exit. Whenever you cannot access, simply clear the private data and check.

Also try changing your DNS servers to Open DNS or Google DNS and check.

I tried changing the MTU and the google and open DNS also...not working..

but yeah whenever i clear everything from my browser...like in safari if i reset safari....facebook opens....but as i said it just opens and after login as soon as i click on any notification or any message...it stops working again...just for login it works...is that any kind of script problem or anything else??

1. Try opening using proxy and update the result.

2. Disable antivirus and firewall, then check.

3. Run a full system scan using Avast Free.

4. Install Mojopac Free on your PC (on any drive), create a virtual environment and check if it is working.
