When i download something with high seed:leech ratio, i get around 180-210kBps. But with less seeds my speed is going down a lot. Currently my utorrent downloads only 2 torrents at a time, but i want to increase it to like 4 or 5 so i can have some low seeded torrents and still be able to download at a high speed cause of the other high seeded torrents in the row. ok now i'm not sure how many maximum global connections and individuals connections i should have for 4-5 active downloads.
I'm on bsnl's 2mbps night unlimited plan and always seem to get 47-51 kBps upload speed, download speed with high seeded torrents is between 180-210kBps. Sometimes speed goes down to 150kBps for a couple of hours but that is not mcuh of a bother to me.

sometimes it is not just no. of seeds but quality of seeds too which matter.e.g.in sweden where people have 1.5gbps connection at home even 1 such person seeding will result in huge improvement.you can set max global connections to 200 & 50 for each torrent.my suggestion is though use 3 active download torrents & 1 seeding.also remember to limit your upload speed to 30-35KBps because more the no. of connections made by torrent more will be the upload overhead.if you are dl 3 torrents with total 150 connections then you will be using a portion of your upload speed too for packet receiving acknowledgment for these 150 connections.

I simply change the queing value (in utorrent preferences) to 4 or of desired value when torrent speed is low. I mostly use open torrent trackers than private (except for regional content) where at times you get low seeds. Worked fine for me. Or you register at some private trackers (either regional or global). You will be able to find good no. of seeds on them. For night unlimited users, private trackers is really helpful.

Since you get very small time to upload, you may also try direct links. Jdownloader or cryptload can efficiently manage your downloads.
