    Question BSNL Broadband & Torrents.....

    hi
im a bsnl broadband user from patna.
i have home 250 plan but i also have access to Business 9000 id/pw which does work from my home....
for heavy downloads i use business plans...
today i had to downlad an audio lecture files of 1.65 gb.
usually all the downloads i did were from rapidshare and megaupload......but this file is a torrent...
today only i downloaded 'Get Torrent' today......
the download speed at torrent sucks ......it is about 10k/sec
at 10k/sec it would take weeks to download the 1.65 gb file....

whereas normal file (other than torrent, like rar etc.) on windows download speed is about 150kb/sec.......

i searched on internet and did the setting from this site....BitTorrent FAQ and Guide
but i couldnot do the port forwarding thingy.......

any body could u please help me in increasing my torrent speed to what it should be.........
i could start the process all over again other than what i did according to the above site.....

    please help me guys.....

im a networking duffer as know nothing abt it except what a home pc user should know!!!

    my OS is winXP sp2
    modem is SmartAX MT882

First of all download da client "Bitcomet" [free]
tats da best torrent client in my opinion
As i can figure out tat u r new to da Torrent world i would just like u to :
    1. check the no. of seeders[Hosts] and leechers[Downloaders] of the torrent u are downloading. This is the first thing to look for when d/l a torrent
    2. increase the no. of half open tcpip connections
from 10 to 50 .. u can do this with help of bitcomet or www.LvlLord.de - Tipps, Tricks & Utilities - News

This wud increase ur speed drastically if u have enough no. of seeders and leechers
