Check in your selfcare portal any option for your shift
    within Kolkata circle
shift a landline option appears to be available.

    or
    Step 1:
As shift will involve Change of Telephone number
and may be also your BB userID/PW, surrender and get a certificate from present Exchange.

    Step 2:
Apply in new Exchange for new Telephone and BB connection.
( this will not involve any fresh security Deposit/installation charges, as applicable to a NEW Telephone/BB connection.)
    required.
Proof of residential address may be asked.

    Feedback.

I don't think so because shifting only requires the port to be forwarded to the the exchange where the person has shifted.
For instance, one of my relatives has shifted 3 times to different areas and still using the same telephone number and bb user ID/password.

    @pkm.sbp
The Telephone Exchange code for all the three areas may be same. Then Telephone number is not changed.

    Sova bazar......33 2555 63XX
    Rajarhat......... 33 6611 71xx

It is always good practice to wait for a response from the thread starter. No point is contradicting the first reply.
    May/can be wrong.
I am in Chennai and reported the procedure
    followed here.

Unless serious damage is likely to his equipments! or life is threatened> by the suggestions given!!.

Allow @agnishri to "pick holes" in my post.
