    Default Confusion About Line Attenuation

    Hello Folks
    Good Evening

    I have a bit Confusion At this Moment
    Why i have very High Line Attenuation Downstream Rate But Upstream is Good

    I am Not facing any hissing sound in phone line

    Please clear me on this

    It is quite common. Happens with most users. Not of much concern.

    no need to worry.even with a downstream attn of 45-50 you can easily get 2mbps.my downstream attn is 43 & i get usual speed.

    @whitestar_999 I am Not Worry About Speed ....

    few months ago i was facing dsl link up and down every few mins
    i hope i will Not face again with this line

    attn mainly affects speed while SNR values affect connectivity.usually low SNR values <10 for connections 8mbps or below results in DSL link problem.

    Yep, it is SNR that causes disconnection.

    Since GDMT is not working in BSNL, try ADSL2 mode to reduce the sync rate.

    Slight improvement in SNR expected. 3 dB rise will be significant for a stable connection.

    Feedback with SNR attn values.

    Beginners like me, usually follow this table: as a general guide.
