Thread: Error 678_Intermittent problem with connectivity

Hi,
I have the Sterlite/Huawei smartAx MT 882 modem which BSNL provided long time back.

Recently I am experiencing a strange problem. though the Link light glows, I am not able to connect to the Internet. It is showing me the 678 error.
This happens mostly at night time. My desktop has WIN XP installed in it.

But when I am unpluging the LAN connecter from my Desktop and connected in in the laptop which has WIN 7 installed in it, I found that it is connecting to the internet.

This is happening only at times and not permanently.
FYI, my LAN always shows a Status "Limited or no connectivity".
Also, my phone line is splitted before it reaches the Modem.

I think there should be a prb with the OS cos as I told, switching to Win7 works fine
