Default Adding my own WIFI router to BSNL Dataone ADSL

    Hi all

I started using Data one BSNL ADSL services in 2006; I have 1 GB plan 256 kbps at home using ADSL (Huwaie Smartex 882) which connects via PPOE (needs username and password).

I got a wifi router (Belkin N wireless, F5D8233-4; which is my old wifi at my college in US) and now i am trying to figure out any way to add this router to my existing home setup to create a wifi network at home.

Tried googling it, but it didn't help.

    Any help here?

    Thanks

    ADSL modem:AxMt882
Change to PPPoE ("Always On") mode.
Uncheck "Bridged":USERID/PW stored/entered in WAn page of modem
    http://www.calcutta.bsnl.co.in/dataoneinstall/mu03.html
    Ignore step 15.

    Wifi router: Belkins F5D8233-4
    Select DynamicIP in Belkin.
Change LAN address of Belkin wifi router.

    Default Thanks a lot

i read through the steps which seemed simple enough, however i cannot configure the modem as you mentioned in first step.

when i try to type in 192.168.1.1, the internet explorer shows "cannot display webpage" message. And also the method says to disconnect the RJ 11 from modem prior to typing this url in IE. I did that but still it doesnt work.

    Help me troubleshoot.

1.At first configure your old modem as pppoe mode always on mode(not in dialup bridge mode).
2.Then remove your old router from your lan port and then place new router and and connect it to your lan port. Next, go to 192.168.1.1 and enter user and password and in LAN Page change the default gateway 192.168.1.1 as 192.168.2.1.
3.At last, remove new router from computer, place the old router connect power line, dsl line and Ethernet line. The out of ethernet line to new router WAN port and also connect new Ethernet port to Computer lan port.
