    Question BSNL Wi-Max question!

    Hello

Before 10 days my broadband internet (wired) disconnected due to the road works (they cut phone wires) . I made complaint to the exchange but then no action was taken and then they said all people went for diwali celebration and will return after diwali which means in the month of november. Since my work is based on the internet, I really need to have fast internet connection.

So I decided to buy BSNL wi-max . I called wi-max people four times and they never come to give connection. They said if the sky is cloudy they cant configure wi-max . Is that truth or just an another idiotic answer by the BSNL employee? And also where can I complaint about this?

    Thanks.

    Yes

You can use a 2G or 3G connection using your cell phone in case it is an emergency. You can either use an USB cable or bluetooth for using your cell phone as modem to connect to internet. 2G works on almost all phones, but for 3G your phone should support it. Even if you get Wimax connection or your wired connection restored, you can keep this as a backup.

Neither 2G nor 3G has unlimited plans at the moment, but 2G is very cheap (and slow) compared to 3G. You can use a PC suite for your phone to makes things easier. Most PC suites support plug and play (and a click) for phone modems. You can also buy a data card if you are planning to use SIM for internet extensively.

Mention your location that someone from your area can suggest you possible alternatives / solution.

I have a 3G USB data card (visiontek,BSNL one) and I'm working using that. Its quite slow and its disconnects often. I'm living in tamilnadu, coimbatore. My plan is to choose the wi-max 750 rs Home unlimited.

Any link between clouds and wi-max?

    Thanks.

3G is slow ? What speed is the speed you get ? May be you should try starting a thread in 3G section for a solution.

This is the first time I hear Wimax is linked to cloud after an YouTube video where someone was very intelligently explaining that cloud services will be affected while raining

You can use this link to complain

But I am not sure if anybody will be in office considering it is Diwali tomorrow. Anyways it takes around 3 days to get a response.

My browsing speed is slow and disconnects often. Download rate is ~250-270kbps . I wonder why browsing speed is slow and disconnects often.

    Thanks for the link.

Regarding the cloud and the wi-max , the employee said so.

You can get better help if you start a thread in the 3G section, you will find many users from Coimbatore who can get you the no. of the right person. As for the cloud reference, I think the BSNL guy wanted to enjoy his Diwali holidays.
