How are you all doing, I am doing fine I am having this particular problem and seek your guidance on how to go about it. I am using broadband connection since 2006 and in chennai since 2009 from 2009 till date i have not encountered a single problem and most internal problems of modem, line, PC etc i solve by myself have some tech knowledge but not too much.
My location is Chennai , and day before yesterday in the harsh rains thunder phone became noisy, no dial tone, ADSL link is there but no internet working MODEM (UTSTARCOM ADSL )TEST SHOWS Testing ATM OAM segment ping fail and then onwards all parameters fail.
YEsterday being working day i registered complaint and was furiously following up with BSNL as today is diwali and at home phone is required to wish relatives and accept phone calls. But the height is at BSNL exchange no one bothers to pick the phone calls, still the online complaint and 1500 complaint worked and by evening it was ok, now since today morning i noticed two problems which never i had faced since 2009:
1. ADSL link not 100% stable , earlier it was like bullet stable always.
2. ADSL link flickers and goes off whenever the phone is engaged / talking.
This is a pain for me, because always phone is engaged and THIS should not happen, modem connection comes from splitter... and till 2 days back tTHIS PROBLEM never came and was neither there it is born from today only
Now understand situation same setup since 2009, modem gets connection from splitter and everything working fine earlier mom used to chat with relatives for hours and i used to work on net seamlessly, only because of that rain thunder this problem happened and the BSNL corrected it only to give a new problem. Because explaining a problem to BSNL is a big skill the person on other end does not even understand what i want to tell and dont know the tech knowledge these staff. Because no matter what i say they write their own complaint and the person reading complaint understands something , this is first complaint of mine in 2 yrs so 2 yrs kudos to bsnl for providing me uninterrupted service,,now also u need to provide same quality of service..
Now how do I explain this to BSNL.
Also curious to know that how BSNL works is the Broadband thing all computerised or electronic, do they rectify broadband problems through their terminal computer itself or through the exchange through wires etc,,. has anyone seen their internal troubleshooting setup/?
And what should i do now:
1. WAIT hoping this is common problem and gets solved by itself.
2. Check splitter how to check splitter, in case splitter is out of order because of rains, thunder ( might be a case, i am not tech enough to check splitter) There might be possibility of splitter getting spoiled, not always BSNL might be at fault??
3. COmplain to BSNL ..
please suggest

btw modem i have not tweaked seems some BSNL problem is there will wait and see for one day then blast another complaint , this modem is faithfully serving me from past 5 years and also have connected it to dlink router for wifi access...
