Posting the XML file is not of much help. What is it that you wish to do exactly?

Presume that "asus rt-n13u" is a wireless router. Do you wish to create a wireless network at home by connecting the BSNL modem/router to this router?

If yes, then you can use the following guide as a reference (it refers to Linksys router):
Setup of ADSL Modem/Router UT-300R2U with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G

For the Asus router part, use the following:
    http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/308...er/index4.html

    Some changes:
    - The BSNL router's IP address must be 192.168.1.1
    - The Asus router's IP address must be completely different such as 192.168.2.1

    Default ppoe

well i connected the LAN of the modem to the WAN of the router and the LAN1 from the router to the PC ethernet port. it worked with default firmware, after flashing it, i cant seem to put all the settings in the right places.

im looking to connect wired. need dd-wrt for downloading with PC turned off.

so any help would be appreciated

    nevermind.
i didnt have to do much actually.
same username and pass under ppe and copy the same primary and secondary dns into your dd-wrt dns1 and dns2 and that did the trick

im up and running. thanks for looking. now letme try to figure out how to run wireless

ok its back to haunt me
i got dd-wrt on my router and the adsl modem works without issues
what happens is after a hard reset, the wan ip shows but when i change the wan settings from automatic dhcp server to ppoe and enter my isps username and pass and the dns1 and dns2 then the damn wan ip goes to 0.0.0.0
i tried numerous hard resets. the 30/30/30 reset and everything.
it all turns to normal once i reboot but i cant enter the adsl ppoe settings and get it to work

should i try cloning mac address? how do i get my PCs MAC address

]It's possible to come back to asus firmware, just use asus firmware utility like you do with dd-wrt.
    1.
Can you please tell the reason for flashing DD-wrt FW ?
What additional facilities you obtained after flashing DD-wrt FW?
    2.
Do all menu pages drastically change , and not same as shown in link given by @just4Kix? ( first time in this forum for asus model ) )
    3.
what settings should i change and where is it in dd-wrt?]

Please Post as screen shot the menu page as it appears now .

yes you can come back to asus default firmware. u just have to use firmware restoration app that comes with asus utilities
dd-wrt enables a lot more options. mainly usb device http and torrent downloading with PC off and other options which are unavailable in the default asus firmware which is, by most user opinions, a complete crappy firmware.
yea the outlook becomes less graphical and more straight forward with fields to enter settings but its clearly laid out and easy to use once you figure out which goes where. but some cases, it just messes up. like mine. but then again im a n00b too.
depends on what connection you are trying to get to work. cable, 3g usb or adsl like mine. if its ppoe, tell me how it goes

depends on what connection you are trying to.....adsl like mine. if its ppoe, tell me how it goes
"If its PPPoE " "BRIDGED"are you using an external dialer ( Userid/PW entered in system window)
PPPoE "Always On" UserID/PW stored in wan page.

If your ADSL modem connects to Internet automatically ( 2nd above) In your ASU router program select equivalent of NO userId/PW
Dynamic IP DHCP can be enabled range given .
    feedback.
I am also in KG stage: without pictures I cannot understand !!!!
All screen shots as per original available for comparison. in this thread.

ofcourse i have an external dialer. i mean the rt-n13u is just a router right, not a modem.
well thats the whole point. i dont know how to configure the thing.
i was suggested to try bridged in the modem settings and disable dhcp server on modem and then go ahead with dd-wrt on the rt-n13u router.
my modem is way old n crappy that i cant find the settings for setting up bridged so ive ordered a d-link 2520u modem. hopefully it will work out better on that, will find out tomorrow.

n the other things u just said, i didnt understand much.

Forget all about DD-wrt asu router etc.
Confirm you can/ cannot connect your ADSL modem to start automatically and connect to Internet. No dialer < no system window.

    In the modem WAN page
Deselect "bridged" select PPPoE Next next enter userid /pw etc.

Enable DHCP give Range 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
192.168.1.2 reserved for ASUS wifi router(post No 2 also refers)
Give details of your old "crappy" adsl modem!! model/make/number.

or if you get connected to Internet in anyway
Copy/PASTE here ONLY LAN network data
    ipconfig /all

    DD-WRT support your model supported.

    Asus RT-N12 B yes no
    Asus RT-N13 - no no
    Asus RT-N13U - yes no
    Asus RT-N13U B1 yes no

All OK. Your picture 5 shows DHCP enabled.
Task One completed. No more changes in UT300R2U MTNL model

    Task two partne
connect Rj45 from computer end to WAn port of ASUS wifi router.

Another rj45 to computer lan port.
( with whatever firmware version you use.
I can only refer to screen shots as given by @just4kix ( post No 2)

A more positive response will be to do the procedure. and make a report
Would have taken less than 30 to 50 seconds. No internet connection or not.
Then the information you give matters. Either positive or negative.
AN user dabbling in DDwrt FW etc , is expected to be knowledgeable.

Post as attachment screenshot of the wifi settings.

    Default solved

    dude
i somehow got it solved. rebooted and stuff and it still on.
what i did is connected my new 2520u modem router and transferred the settings from old router to it and i did a 30/30/30 reboot on the asus router and connected it as before et voila - it works. settings stay in the asus router as automatic dhcp. no ppoe settings on the router. the adsl modem will do the authentication part im guessing.
anyways im on it now... online.
as for wireless, my laptop is out to get serviced. some wierd issues. supposed to get back in 10days. will hook it up then n try it out

thanks a lot essbebe. thanks for looking into my issue

    much appreciated
