Thread: Which wireless router\modem to buy?

Hi friends,

I 'm new to this forum, glad to meet you all. I 'm going to get Bsnl Broadband connection for my home. Currently Bsnl doesn't have equipment n telephone to give along with the connection. So it askd the customers to buy it on their own.
The installation of both landline n broadband is free provided the customer have the telephone n modem\router.

So i just wanna buy a new wireless modem\router? Which brand is the best? I will be keeping the modem\router n phone in the ground floor exactly near the window n access the connection from my desktop or laptop from the first floor. My desktop is also near the first floor window which is in the same side as the ground floor.

The width of the wall is less than 1 sq feet.

So, wat kinda of powerful wireless modem\router i should buy to get powerful signal? Do i need wirless lan adaptor?

My PC has a mobo inbuilt ordinary lan port

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why modem/router cannot be located in First floor ?
Easy to use RJ11 Telephone wire to make another PHOne Port .
If the height is about 10 to 15 feet any adsl modem + wifi router ( 2 units)
or a 3-in1 will do.
