Thread: Best Modem Router

I want to go for a good wireless router with good signal strength and a single device to connect to the internet. What is a wireless modem router ? is it a(ADSL2+Wireless router) if i'm not wrong.Presently i have a bsnl modem UTR300 connected to my desktop and a Iball Baton wireless which is low in signal strength and crap in configuring connected lots of wire mess and confusing.Does a modem router solve my problem of both a modem and a wireless router instead of connecing wires to both and fro?
I checked out the new belkin wireless modem router costing 4999,how is it will it serve my purpose?
I want my desktop as well as 2 laptops to connect wireless simultaneously,instead of doing changes in the modem config its bit confusing. I hope these new modem routers will be piece of cake for me.
Some models i came close to as revieved in digit does anyone know and shed light on which the best among the rest and fast and reliable serving both a modem and a wireless router.Will purchasing online be beneficiary for these routers? because market is flooded with cheap routers.

as the name suggests a wireless modem router is both modem & router.N is the latest standard in wireless speed.it comes in 2 variants N150 meaning top speed of 150mbps & N300(real N standard with top speed of 300mbps).N300 is needed if you want to stream HD videos over your wifi network like from pc/network player to tv.i don't trust belkin much.TP-Link is very good for the low price.here are some models:

TP-Link TD-W8951ND:N150 model,cheap but menu is less intuitive & slow speeds over large distances(still should be ok for normal usage)

online shopping is good especially for not so costly items like this one.also many online sites have a mobile no. for queries,support etc.
