The plan you should have depends upon your need. If you wish for plain browsing, emails, occasional downloads, etc. then go for UL750. If you wish to download movies and stuff, then choose the day limited/night unlimited combo plan. But be sure not to download anything except between 2 AM to 8 AM.

If you are a first time BB user, I will suggest that you start with UL750 plan, see how it goes and then switch later if required.

As far as modem types are concerned, these are clearly identified on the BSNL website. VDSL means "very high speed digital subscriber line". It is applicable for plans of 16 mbps and above. These plans are very costly. In my opinion you should choose "ADSL WiFi-2" (W2) type of modem. This modem has USB, Ethernet and Wi-fi and is most flexible of all.

    Please mention :

    1. Your budget.

    2. Minimum speed you are happy with.

    3. How much data do you need per month (I used around 30 GB).

    4. Your requirement

    a. General browsing

    b. Gaming (Ping matters)

    c. YouTube videos, Audio / video chatting.

    d. Moderate / Heavy downloading

    You can choose

    1. 2 Mbps Night unlimited plans starting from Rs. 500 with very less day time usage.

    2. Unlimited plans with moderate speed starting from Rs. 500.

    3. Unlimited plans with FUP which gives moderate data limit for high speed and 256 Kbps afterwards.
