Thread: Automatic Connection?

Hey, i use a wep connection and when i connect my laptop to wi-fi, i need to do that pppoe connection thing. i don't like it... and secondly, i have a new sony tv, galaxy ace, blackberry curve and a sony home theater that supports wi-fi. Is there any way i can create pppoe connections on these? well if not then that is the main reason i want a direct connection types thing that doesn't have pppoe login mess, something like what airtel gives how do i configure?? need help.... i have nokia seimens wi-fi router installed by bsnl people themselves....

Please update your modem/router details so that we can suggest something. The thing which you are talking is bit confusing for me as PPPoE is the connection type which is responsible for internet connectivity but WI-fi is your home network, both are totally different things.

I don't know any way by which you can create PPPoE connection Sony TV, Glaxy Ace, Blackberry Curve and Sony Home Theater, Apology.

Probably Nokia Siemens Networks. 1600.

Presume you have a laptop, to use with the above BB connection, provided by BSNL.
PPPoE: to avoid confusion :
"Dialer Mode" You have to log in , with your ID/PW in a system Window
to connect to Internet.
PPPoE"Always On" mode :
Your userId/PW entered/stored in WAN menu page of your modem, and you get connected , as soon as you switch on the system laptop/modem/router.

An Id called SSID will appear in your laptop . ( this may require a security key to get connected ) Also some other WIFI connections may
appear which you may /can not connect if "secured"

Para two:

To get connected to BSNL BB, in other Devices/laptops/smartphones etc select the PPPoE" alwaysOn " mode.

Check settings in your modem/router with this link.

Also enable DHCP ( usually in LAN page) and give a range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.20

Enable UpNp button , if seen .
SAVE . Go to management and SAVE/REBOOT. wait for two minutes.

Check laptop works ( connects to Internet)with RJ45 connected and in wifi ~~~ mode without any connection.
Confirm SSID say "Harmanjit" appears in other Devices.

Regarding TV with built-in WIFI, simply could have addition wireless Lan card incorporated. ( consider it as another laptop computer.!!)

I think you are referring to the option to enter the password as PPPoE setup. Yes, ISPs like Reliance need to log in using your password to connect to internet. But since you are able to connect more than one device at the same time, you are already in auto login mode for BSNL which requires no password input.

The password you are being asked is the security password which prevents others from using your net. If you want to avoid this step, remove the encryption option from modem settings. By this way, you will be automatically connected to any device with WiFi auto connect ability. The downside is that it is the same for anyone who come across your WiFi network since there is no password.

I am very pleased with everyone's response..... My router is Nokia Seimens 1600 router.... and i am actually a bit confused right now... i am quite a learner so i kind of need some screenshots.... and i have WEP connection.... i know the WEP password key also after my bsnl router is connected, i need connect my internet connection using a username and password... and i don't like that procedure because my parents have a problem using it as they aren't used to this thing, and more over if some direct connection could be made i.e. without the login to connect to internet.... i can perform what everyone is saying but i need some help in case of screenshots....

i basically have WEP network, do i need to change it into WPA so that i can connect directly without logging in to a window to connect to internet? And DHCP is already enabled.... i already have a SSID, Do i need to make one again for WPA network??... u are of a great help dude... thank you....

Congrats:
Please select Advanced Options :Management
menu item Backup or SAVE ( present settings )
Save to say C:/My Documents/router working
In future you can use the backup file,if needed,
and no need to re do all settings.
