    Question D-Link DSL-2520u configuration for BSNL Broadband

    Hi,

    I have bought a D-Link DSL-2520u modem to use with BSNL boradband. I have configured it. The diagnostic test result shows the status 'Test with supplied IP:FAIL'. All other are shown as PASS.

    The Power,Lan, Dsl indicator lights are green, Internet indicator light is red and Status light is off.

    Please help me to resolve this.

    VPI/VCI 0 and 35 for BSNL.
    confirm you are using PPPoE'Always On" mode
    ( userid/PW stored/entered in WAN page )

    Attach as *.doc ipconfig /all

    Hi essbebe,

    I have read the post having your reply [link: indiabroadband.net/bsnl-broadband/29257-dlink-glb-802c-router-config-problem-day-1-a.html ]. My problem is same. I have also contacted D-Link customer care and they advised me on MAC binding and asked to contact BSNL people. My modem is DLink DSL 2520u.

    This modem has around for more than 5 years with different names and Dlink has just now added to the list. with their brand number . ( UT300R2U/Beetel220BX/Beetel110BXI ( mine now ) etc.

    Here are the screenshots.












    This is the D-Link customer care reply:
    ISP,s in india started binding MAC addresses from last year as cyber cell ask ISP's to control the user datbase.and ISP,s also want to control the no. of users. it is also a security mechnisam..
    we faced many issue regarding the same MAC binding issue.

    UPDATE: Check PM

    Please Recheck WAN settings ( In Advanced options )
    Obtain IP address automatically button to be selected.
    or report WAN status here. Also check MTU value.

    I think manupal is in bridge mode and that is why the person who is belong to this id manupal and also a human-being and using DSL-2520u to fulfill broadband facility get failed at "test the assigned IP address"

    Default Problem Resolved

    My problem is resolved. I took the modem to BSNL office and they configured it immediately, now it is working fine. The problem was related to MAC address binding, as pointed out by D-Link customer care personal. Thanks for all co-operated.

    Congrats:
    You may post screen shot of menu page where MAC binding has been done. to help other users. you can blank the address
    example: 00:AF:XX:XX:XX:XX
    Also revised ARP page. for this ;
