    Question Broadband plan chage

    I had requested for broadband plan change on 21 oct,2011. The plan came into effect from 2 nov, 2011.
    Previous plan : 125 home plan.
    New plan : 499 unlimited home plan.

    1. In bill from 1/10/2011 to 31/10/2011
    They have charged
    Security deposit(broadband) 31/10/2011 to 4/11/2011 499.00

    How can they charge for nov in oct bill ?

    bsnl website ->service/New_BB_postpaid.htm

    Security deposit and installation charges for Landline telephone shall be taken from new customers as applicable for Local/STD/ISD.
    Security Deposit & Fixed Monthly Charges for the Modem will be as per the existing instructions.
    [I am existing customer of bsnl + using 125 plan for more than 1 yr]

    bsnl website->service/bbtariff/initial.htm
    Change of Plan Charges Nil
    [then why do I need to pay 499 extra??]

    Do I need to pay that ?

    2. Will I be charged Rs. 125 for 1 day(1/11/2011) N what about extra MB's download ?

    3. I am planning to switch back to 125 plan. Will bsnl refund the Rs. 499 ?
    Will they again ask me to pay 125 security deposit ?

    Please let me know Should I pay the bill with 499 extra urgently ?

    1. Rs. 499 is one month rent advance which is a must for all plans worth Rs. 500 or above. You can have a chat with accounts officer on that part since your plan is Rs. 499 one.

    2. Yes, I think for Home 125 you get 150 MB. So if you have used more than

    150/ 30 = 5 MB on 1st, you need to pay for excess usage as per the tariff for Home 125.

    3. Yes, I got refund when I moved to a plan with lower tariff. Hope it has not changed.

    Unless you are able to convince the accounts officer and get a new bill, you will have to pay the current bill. The excess amount will be adjusted in next bill.

    Since you can manage with Home 125, you can try Home 500 Combo which gives 1.5 GB day time usage and 2-8 unlimited. There are free calls and no phone bill too.

    2. see above link.
    3. Better use new tariff for November. Check your usage
    . Apply for Home 250 plan end of the month.
    Deposit paid will be given credit in future bills.

    It was only for plans less than Rs. 500. You can talk to accounts officer for clarification.
