Default BSNL modem UTStarcom WA3002G4 is UPnP compatible or NOT-?-.

I am unable to find 'UPnP' listed anywhere in the 'set-up' to enable it. And hence have my doubts about it being a 'non-UPnP' device.
    Can someone clarify-?-. Thanks. [1718hrs/26-11-2011].

What version are we talking about? And where do i look for it??? User manual (on the CD which came with the modem) does not mention anything about this device being UPNP enabled. Please guide me on the same.

And hence have my doubts about it being a 'non-UPnP' device.

    Mention purpose.

It is has UPnP option, but it is better to use port forwarding if it like allowing certain applications to access net. UPnP is a considered as a security risk by some experts.

If you are particular about using the option, check pages on the left hand side menu on modem home page.

Default BSNL model WA3002_g4 LAN UPnP button.

Sorry. Checked the model with same FW version. in the web.
BSNL has modified the FW seems to have deleted the option.

Purpose of enabling the UPnP option is to gain remote access to my machine through the internet. I have checked all the pages on the modem's home page but I do not see the UPnP option anywhere. Could you please help me in finding it??

Check the screen shot above. The it is in LAN if it is available in your modem. If not, try a firmware upgrade or try other methods.

Purpose of enabling the UPnP option is to gain remote access to my machine through the internet.

Mention what is the intended result. There are many programs which gives remote access to your PC even without changing modem settings. Even Windows has builtin remote support.

Well, I now know that this router is not UPnP enabled and port forwarding is the only option. But since I am not that good technically, is there some way you could guide me on how to perform this operation???

You can specify which application you have in mind.
for Torrent downloads ? Utorrent Bittorrent etc.

or for wifi link to smartphones etc ?
Hope you are connected in PPPoE mode
( USERiD/PW entered/stored in modem. Also enable DHCP in lan page )

The one app that I intend to use is Yawcam. Its a webcam software and you can see my requirements on my thread that was posted on the 23rd Nov 2011, called Internet Gateway. Yes I am connected in PPPoE mode and the DHCP is enabled.

You can use DMZ option to open all port, you do not need to be headache on it.
If you do not need to share your internet with other computer then use PPPOE from desktop.

If you need security and want to open only the specific port then follow the essbebe's step which he will guide you.

Why you did not continue in the same thread ?

Remember: If you run into problems with the UPNP function you can always forward the ports manually instead.

Wait for @meetdilip's suggestions, who is using the same webcam.

    similar setup with more cameras;

I have been through a number of documents and followed step by step approaches as well but I am not able to arrive at the results that are required. Request you to guide me through the manual port forwarding procedure in order for me to be able to access my Yawcam setup from a remote location over the internet. Thanks in advance.
