Question Setting up UT300R2U for windows 7

    hello everyone,
i have a UT300R2U modem which i use with my desktop (windows xp) using USB(lan also available) and it is working fine
now I want to use it with my laptop (windows 7)(i think it's home edition) (both lan and usb available)

i have got the ut starcom cd with me , so yesterday, i connected the modem to laptop through lan and followed step by step procedure (thru the installer available in cd) but installation stopped at a place where it says installing drivers (or something like that), the bar keeps moving for 15-20 minutes leaving me frustated

so can any1 give me a "step by step" procedure for making it work with my laptop? (yes i'm a real noob at it)i downloaded a driver but have no idea what to do of it? so would any1 help me

try only LAN to LAN to laptop with windows 7.

You get the internet icon in Taskbar /? click status diagnose etc.
    report error message.

The drivers may be for use with USB port ( for windows 7: ???)
Check /list the contents of the CD.

YEA!! i finally got the net into runnig condition,
i just plugged one lan port into modem and another to the laptop, then, without using the CD, made a broadband connection and it connected,
probably windows 7 got the drivers ...and yeah, i changed some settings(broadband settings..)

ANOTHER QUESTION, as i plugged lan port into laptop(and connected the net there), i also tried to run broadband simultaneously on my desktop ...but it DIDN'T run
" is there any way i can have net on both of them at the same time ??"
i mean i have2-3 lan cables -they haVe ethernet plugs on both their sides...but i cannot actually say if they are crossover cables,
If there is any way to either connect the computers and share the internet or use internet simultaneously, then please tell me (step by step again :P)
    PS:thanx for your help anyway

You need to be in PPPoE mode to use more than system at the same time independently. Since you are using both ethernet and USB cables, you can configure your modem in PPPoE mode with link in post no.2 and both computers will be able to access net provided modem is ON and net is active.

In LAN cable mode, you do not need any driver. Same is the case with XP. No matter which OS you use (provided it support LAN) your net will work.

Alternatively, buy a switch, connect the, LAN cable from modem to switch, take two lines from switch and connect to both PCs to have net at the same time.
