    Default bsnl broadband unlimited plan confusion

    i belong to up west
    i m using airtel broadband unlimited (fraudlant company but with great service)
    i m a extreme downloader around 50 to 80 gbs in a month
    now i want to switch over to bsnl 512 kbps unlimited broadband+landline(main is internet)(budget 800 to 1000 include landline+broadband+taxes)
    i browsed many unlimited plans and gets confused between ul 750 ,750combo,howi750 and evdo 750(2.4 mbps speed)
    I also browsed one sify aspire unlimited plan at 724 /- 512 kbps unlimited

    we do not make too many calls from landline hardly 6(5 local+2 std) to 7 calls in case of emergencey so what service tax and call rates will be charged extra besides 750 on landline calls without any landline plan ??
    one more thing any installation or one time charges diff between howi750 vs ul 750 i mean extra rental for wifi modem something like that....

    plzz suugest me the best suitable(i do not have laptop so i will use it on pc)

    UL 750 - (Rs. 750 + telephone rent ) + 10.3 % tax

    UL 750 combo - Rs. 750 + 10.3 % tax and no free calls

    Wimax plan ?

    For all wired ADSL plans, installation and initial charges are same. Some circles waiver installation charges for certain period. Mention your location so that someone from your place can update you of such discounts.

    For UL 750, you can change any land line plan of your choice. I am on UL 750 and using general land line plan which was there even before I took broadband. But you are free to choose any plan of your choice according to your usage pattern.

    Unless you are in Chennai, for all UL plans under Rs. 1,000 with FUP, post FUP speed is 256 Kbps. Only UL 750 and UL 750 Combo gives 512 all the time.

    UL 750 - (Rs. 750 + telephone rent ) + 10.3 % tax

    If you are on general plan and live in an urban area, you get 50 free calls for the telephone rent you pay. This free calls include STD too but at a different pulse rate. The length of free calls is decided on many factors. For local land line it is 180 seconds and vary for STD and mobile according to network and distance. You can get details under Revised Pulse rate (in seconds) on the link.

    also for STD facility(landline numbers only) you have to deposit at least 500(not sure about exact amount).you can call any indian mobile no. even without STD facility.my advice is get combo plan & use landline only to make calls to mobile in emergencies when you have no balance in your mobile.in UL 750 combo you will not get any free calls & calls made to mobile will be at Rs.1/minute.your bill will be (750+any calls made from landline)+12.5% service tax.

    Rs. 500 (or the amount they ask for STD) will be a one time deposit. You can get the initial charges for broadband here

    Not true. There is some offer in Chennai, but the increased speed will have FUP and will dip to 512 Kbps after that.

    what speed r u getting in d whole month

    I get 512 Kbps or practically around 60 KBps all the time.

    @meetdilip
    I had to apply for increased speed at 1 Mbps limit 4 GB, thereafter 512Kbps as usual. ( Present Home 750 )
    In Chennai circle tariff plan changes only on first, and mine will be effected from 1st Jan 2012.

    @coolnsmart
    All promotional offers ALWAYS check in your BSNL CIRCLE web site.

    Speed will vary , according to line conditions , and no
    surety you will get Max speed always..

    Ya, heard it will be given as a new plan. 4 GB is not much, but would have opted that if it were all India.
