    Default Broadband Issues :(

    Hi everybody.

    Of late (actually come to think of it, all the time) I've been experiencing low browsing speeds and generally bad internet connectivity. I've called up the famed BSNL customer care several times to no avail. They seem to be of the opinion that everything is ok at their end whenever they bothered to give me a proper reply. The local exchange say that they've only recently relaid cables and stuff and deny any (wrongdoing ?) problems at their end. I'm completely flummoxed now. A while back I had a fluctuation connection and now I have terrible browsing speeds. I'm on the UL900 plan(is that the correct name?) which is supposed to provide speeds of upto 4 megabits per second till 8GB of usage and then 256 kilobits per sond speed thereafter. It is early in the month now and am I supposed to get such abysmal speeds?

    Speed Test 1: Down: 0.27 Mbps; Up: 0.31 Mbps; Ping: 43 ms;
    Speed Test 2: Down: 0.21 Mbps; Up: 0.31 Mbps; Ping: 44 ms;

    Modem model: UTStarcom UT300R2U
    SNR and attenuation values:
    Local/Remote Tx Power: 1.19 dB/1.97 dB
    SNR Margin: 16.5db/13.0db
    Line Attenuation: 20.5db/13.0db

    Where exactly is the problem with my connection? Please help!
