Thread: Motive Bsnl

Is that motive.bsnl website has any virus.
I tried the firmware upgrade on UTStarcome WAg002g4(Before Firmware upgrade its works fine) after that i used firmware upgrade my router becomes unstable ie. the router restart every 1-2 minutes.(is this application has any virus BSNLNEWFwUploaderApp.exe).

Its also happens for my friend also.

Post device info of upgraded WA3002-G4 from Motive site.

While upgrading it says that make sure that the power of modem is connected properly (Do not power off modem while upgrading) while upgrading the modem automatically restarted. Then it says that can't upgrade make sure that the modem is switched on or not. I checked the power it fine. But the modem becomes unstable afterthat. It restart every 2-3 min i can't do anything then i replaced a new modem.

One of my friend says the modem works fine and after he tried motive.bsnl upgrade the modem the modem becomes unstable. It also restart every 2-3 min, after days he switched on the router all the light(power, dsl, internet, and the lan1) are switched on. I said him try to access the lan page(192.168.1.1) he tried and said that Server not found error. Then some days later he brought the modem to my home we to access it but all the light are switched on when i on the modem. After 20 - 30 min later the modem comes backs to normal then i try to access the lan page it works fine then i configure the wan page and access the internet. Then next day morning i switched on the modem all the light are switched on then i waited for 30 min the modem comes back to normal then i can able to use it for more than 4-5 hrs the modem restarted every 2-3 min.

These all things are happen after the firmware upgrade.

Try bridge mode(dial up mode)

I just need whether about the motive.bsnl is containing virus or not. I replaced it with new modem. I tried a lot of things nothings works. Thanks for your reply.

Don't try that software unless you wish to damage your settings. Shows the standard of work done by BSNL. The software that is supposed to fix the issues actually corrupt the settings and banish you from internet. Very difficult for even middle level users to get back to internet. Forums in India are flooded with such incidents and BSNL is still offering the software without any rectification (that too with a download speed of 2 Mbps). God save BSNL.

No one is going to download 75 MB to confirm your query !
I have all the files and cannot try/test any FW upgrade as I don't have BSNL supplied modems.

Another FW version could have been suggested, if you had cared to reply to post no 2. to salvage the unit/s.

I suggest everyone if your modem works fine don't go for firmware upgrade.
Sometimes it may damage the setting of your modem. In my personal experience i lost two of bsnl modem using such kind software given by motive.bsnl website.

oh, what does winPPPoe.exe do ? I purposefully avoided the site fearing an infection on my system. It is very irresponsible on their part not to attend the infection every after your direct complaint to them.

I m not fear about the infection to my system files. It destroy my utstarcom modem after i used the software.

Visiting an infected site can do worser things than you can think of. You may end formatting whole HDD and for me that is much worse than corrupting the modem settings.
