Thread: How to reset Nokia Seimens 1600 ADSL router password

Hello,

While changing the default password for the router (which is "admin" sans quotes by default) I used the special character in the new password. Since then I'm not being able to login.

I don't see a hard reset button in the modem. How can I reset it so that it defaults to the usual username and password (admin and admin)?

Update: I think the circular hole at the bottom of the modem, below the status indicator is the reset button...

Now I need to figure out how to backup the settings before resetting.

You need a hardware reset in this case.

There will be a small hole. Use a ball point pen refill and press hold for say 30 seconds when the modem is ON.

Normally it will be alongside the vent holes. It will be different from other and normally has " reset " written near it.

Now I need to figure out how to backup the settings before resetting.

Mostly the last option in modem menu will have backup settings.
