Default Frequent disconnection - Rural Plan

hi friends, I live in a rural area and currently using the highest available plan in the rural area of 2mbps for some Rs.999 + taxes I think.

I am not sure because I am in a rural area or because of any other reason my connection disconnects frequently. At times, it disconnects once every couple of hrs and some times once every 5 minutes as well.

I am attaching few of my adsl stats. I am using UT300R2U modem.

Any help would be appreciated in troubleshooting my problem.

    well to describe more,

The power light stays on while PC/USB line flickers a little almost always.
When net is gone the Line and Data turn off totally and they start one after the other. Power light doesn't go off.

Some times, I get the connection back the ping works but none of the websites open msgrs work at times. Some times it restarts itself after a while giving proper connection and the other times I turn off the modem and turn it back on after 15 - 20 secs.

The problem could be noted more often after 4:30am+ onwards, never checked how long it stays,... but for the past few days its almost happening with no time zones like earlier. May be it decided to have fun with me But its not fun for me at all with my downloads breaking down continuously.

Just for the records, I am using Dell Laptop, Windows 7 if it matters anyway.
Did not have any rains or winds or even thunderstorms or hurricanes or tornadoes recently

Let us first solve the frequent disconnection issue.

    (more options :
1.You may change in Old laptop or new laptop Network settings
DNs to google 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4
    2.
    Download tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net
and select optimal values ( to increase speed )
    3.
use a faster Browser Google Chrome FireFox Opera IE9
    4. Check speed here. ( graph is also made for the readings )
    after each tweak.
    http://mybroadbandspeedd.co.uk.
    5.
    Modem Firmware Upgrade Not recommended.
( can try only Beetel FW files )
    6.
Buy a wifi router for using laptop in wifi mode.
( new laptops have builtin wireless lan cards )
    or
    7.
Download application "connectify" and install in one laptop.
internal or external WLAN card needed. to make it an AP.

other laptop/s can work in WIFI mode ( range limited )
    No wifi router needed.
    Feedback item wise.

thanks essbebe for the suggestions my problem was solved with out making any changes. I did not disable ADSL2+ either.

I had registered complaint with BSNL BB dpt, the tech came and noticed. He said the prob should be either with the line or the modem as the ADSL line was going off not just the Data. He called in the Line Men, they came and checked my line was getting Earth' with some other line passing by, so they taped my line a little higher than the other passing wires.

for the past 48hrs I did not have any line dropping at all, this is the first even from the day I got my broadband connection installed.

    @ragman
    Thanks for the feedback.
Please update thread with adsl data. ( screenshot attachment ) Thanks again.

    Line problems. ( earthing )
In a rural exchange this kind of problem was least expected.

When reporting problem of this nature, check the telephone .
The dial tone should be heard.
or Dial your number from a cellphone( if used ).
Sometimes Telephone is dead and BB will work!!

    @syedyackub

Please read the full thread and post your comments/suggestions.

The user @ragman's broadband connection is normal now. I just wanted the latest SNR/ATTN data , to check any improvement , after the Lineman has rectified an intermittent "EARTH" loop.
