Thread: UT-300R2U modem ADSL not glowing

I'm having UT-300R2U modem for my BSNL broadband. Whenever I switch ON the modem & PC, it is taking minimum 15-30 minutes for the ADSL light to glow. But power, status & ethernet glows immediately on switching ON...no idea why it is taking 30 minutes for the ADSL to glow !!!!!

When connected , or other wise , Check the System log . Management menu ).Give details as *.doc attachment.

Check in Summary/statistics/ADSL and report SNR ATTN etc data.

Take it to BB section of your Exchange. Try for a replacement.

thank u very much, when I asked the exchange I was told since my model UT-300r2U modem is more than 5 years old, it may have problems, I was told to replace the modem.

Now I've purchased a Belkin N150 wireless modem. Can it be connected directly without any other modem?

I purchased the Belkin N150 from outside market...and I paid Rs. 2400/- for it

For UT300r2u check whether power adapter is same as for Belkins.
Confirm here first. . Voltage out put DC plug inner positive. etc

Ut300r2u equivalent Dlink dsl 2520U available for Rs 1100/= approx.

My main reason for going to Belkin was to solve two problems:

1) Delay in ADSL link (last week it took 3 hours for the ADSL to glow)
2) connect my mobile through wifi

Now I'll be relieved as both the problems are solved by this single solution of going for a wireless router modem

Say wifi radius of activity about 30 to 40 feet ? ( also in first floor ?)

Yes, range is good for 30-40 feet.....when went to ground floor and checked it...signal strength is weak (1 signal instead of max 3 available)
