Is bsnl good enough?
firstly we have wait months just to get the connections.(its been 10 months for me)
secondly is the service good enough to wait for such a long time?
what about the speed?
do they give what they promise?

I have a suggestion for you to personally visit the local BSNL exchange
and enquire about the exact position . And I am sure that BSNL is one
of the best broadband providers in India .
this service of bsnl is better but not the best
it is the best one in speed but it does not provide the required service
as it is handled by our government
and u know our government
well bsnl is def worth to wait 4 [ 10 months z long enuf though]
it def provides us wid da best speeds @ economic prices [ home 500 wid nite UL . .wat else can u xpect . . . its fcukin dirt cheap]
and last and definitely da least is thr quality of service .. cant rely on dem
but the package they offer z worth waitin for
According to me BSNL is the best among the Indian broadband. It will take 1-2 months to get the connection from the time of applying. I got connected within 10 days. Due to more customer demand it is taking few months time. They provide the best service and speed.
I am answering all your questions in the sequence you answered:
Q1. Firstly we have wait months just to get the connections.(its been 10 months for me)
ans: Apply without modem you'll get in 15 days
Q2. secondly is the service good enough to wait for such a long time?
ans: If you don't have other option in broadband its good as its better than reliance dial ups and even gprs.
Q3.what about the speed?
ans: I get 225kBps download at night and in day I just do surfing so it doesn't matter that much.
BSNL download speeds are as promised. Good luck with upload speeds. For me the uploads are around 5 to 8kB/sec, download speeds are approx 30kB/sec.
Airtel gives 30kB/sec even on uploads as well as uploads, but it isn't available everywhere.
Tata is the only ISP that gives static IP, but their downtimes can be long at times.
A lot of people won't mind slower upload speeds, so it's upto you what ISP you want to go with.
P.S. On BSNL, I've had only two downtimes for about 30 minutes in the past 6 months, and I'm on 24/7.
I wish I could say the same about my isp sify
I cant even count how many outages I have had as there are a couple of them every day and some of them last from a few days to weeks.
That's horrible. Don't any other ISPs have service in your area?
Only Mtnl is available besides sify but mtnl phone lines were laid here more then 35 years ago and those who have a mtnl broadband connection around here, their experiences are no different then of sify customers.
I normally use airtel's gprs connection when sify is down.
the best in the market... hassle free connection.... worth all its wait!!!!
were i live....
airtel refused connection - ports unavailable,
reliance people came - installed the wimax unit and dissembled it and ungracefully took it back claiming no signal..
then applied for YOU telecom - within 5 days im connected...
used the no hassle you telecom connection to get to
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.
next is all sheer joy.....
within 9 days get the phone connection, that set the pace but i was prepared to be dishearted...
I had stopped being anxious for a internet connection cuz i expected it to be a long agonising wait...
one month later i see 2 men outside my door with a modem in hand....
hahahahaha....
sheer blisss....
not yet paid a single rupee for the connection yet...
simply awesome...
actual download speed for a 256 kbps unlimited connection is about 28kB/s and upload 12 kB/s thru the day....
Fassssssssstttttttt browsing......
