Default Please Help- Can't add iPhone to wireless network

Well, I am visiting my parents in India and trying to get my iphone get connected to their wireless network without any luck.

    Their current setup

SmartAX MT882 ASDL model with PPPoE wan configuration.

    Router - Netgear WGR614 v8.

Their own laptop is able to connect wirelessly and access the internet but I am not able to get online using my iphone or iPad?

I see the wireless network SSID name and says its connected...but not really able to access the web.

Any thoughts suggestions is highly appreciated

    Thanks guys and gals

    Vino

    or
Check the MAC address filter is NOT enabled in Netgear wifi router.

Thanks for the prompt response "essbebe"

I was able to login and access the modem via 192.168.1.1 .
I see the DHCP sever is disabled .
IP filters are disabled as well

Should I enable the DHCP server? Will this mess up their laptop wireless connection? I am just curious how their laptop is able to get online with the DHCP server option disabled

    Thx

I am not able to access Netgear router's configuration screen. The ethernet cable from the ASDL model is connected to one of the 4 output ports of the router ( not the uplink port). I assume this is how the SmartAX MT882 should be configured to work with a router??

When I type 192.168.1.1 in the browser it takes me to the modem config screen...not sure how to access Netgear router's config screen

    3.
Just enable DHCP give range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.20
SAVE Reboot. and test your iPhone.
    4.
NetgearRj45 should go to WAN port/Internet port normally.
You can just change it and see what happens. feedback.
    5/.
    In computer
    START RUn type cmd Ok
    New window
    type ipconfig /all
Check the wlan data and find the Routers IP address.

No..their laptop is powered down now

Ok..will try to enable DHCP. What should I choose for the Lease time option under the DHCP menu screen? Options are 1 ,2,3 hrs and 1,2,3 days and a week.

Also, how can I access netgear config menu?

    Step No 3 Try.

Step 4. Or existing Rj45 connection can remain.
( I am using same way in a wifi router without WAN port ))
    one week.

Step 5:Netgear settings may not require change.

Disabled the DHCP again and able to get online ( wired computer) ...
