    Check speed first here:
    http://mybroadbandspeed.co.uk
    (1)
    download tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
    Select optimal values.
    (2)
    Download Ccleaner from filehippo.com
Run. Check whether 0ld System Restore points can be deleted.
    keep latest 5.
    (3)
    Download and use this:
    http://www.bluesprig.com/jetboost.html
    (4)
Recheck speed. after each step or finally.
    (5)
    Upgrade browser IE9 /Chrome/FireFox.
    Feedback.

    (2)

Installed Long time back. just got only one restore point

    (4)
Recheck speed. after each step or finally.
Done after very step, Don't see any improvement.

    Check.

    (5)
    Upgrade browser IE9 /Chrome/FireFox.
IE9 with latest updates (never used IE)

    Feedback.

In both OS's i use Firefox 9.0.1. I also tried all the browsers in windows same result. i'm only getting slow speeds on certain websites only others are fine, i can play youtube videos without any problem but when i open facebook its sooooo slow the speed is only around 20-40 KBps but when i take a speed test i get about 180-210 KBps all the time . Is there any way i can tinker windows settings to get more speed???

    Try to reinstall windows.
    Not so fast!

    How about sfc /scannow ?
    or
disable idle resident applications /auto update applications
    or
suggest using an AV application or anti malware application!
    or
    Run Ccleaner from http://filehippo.com
( new menu to delete Max System Restore Points clogging Windows )

    etc .

Clear cookies and cache of your browser. Use chrome. Do not install too many add ons
