Default BSNL BB + Beetel 450TC1 connection issue.

    Hi All,
I have bought Beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ router. I am trying to connect it with my BSNL connection.
    1. I selected PVC2 0/35 for VCI/VPI values. Configured the PPPoE, user/pass provided by BSNL.
    2. I restarted with the following current settings and the status page shows data for PVC2 and connected status.
    3. I am not able to browse any pages nor able to ping any of the domains.
    4. I am unable to edit the Wireless auth type because my firm ware is TM4-0Q-025, do I need to down grade it ?
    5. I should have been able to connect to internet and browse with the present settings as well. Do I need to
edit anything ? I followed all the steps explained in the threads here by essbebe and also the video of youtube.

I am able to see the DSL yellow light and Internet light is green! Still not able to browse the internet.

Does a firmware upgrade/downgrade help in getting the modem to work and browse? Please let me know.

    Default Beetel450TCI FW:TM4-0Q-025

Firstly get the lan mode connected.

Deactivate all other PVC's .In wireless use the same SSIDAirtel or mngmt and default WEP security key likely to be 0987654321
Upload as screeenshot Device info page for the PVC you selected
and also the Internet page. Recheck MSS MTU values.
Post as link as say Example tinypic.com/abc45ty.jpg ( Omit http: //www only )
Firmware upgrade/downgrade can be done later.

    1. LAN mode is connected. PVC0 & PVC1 are deactivated as shown in PVC summary page.

    2. I have not changed the SSID for MGMT, only SSID for Airtel was changed have reverted back.

    3. MTU is default i.e. zero.

All the requested pages have been uploaded.

Disable WDS mode. Used for connecting two Wifi routers in wifi mode without cables.
    Rest all Ok.
Use default SSID airtel ssid key 0987654321 ?for testing.

Disabled the WDS mode. Used the SSID as Airtel and providing the key doesn't make any difference. Since for the Airtel SSID it doesn't prompt for any password and in MGMT when I provide the default password, I am unable to browse. I am unable to connect through the LAN mode as well.

Do we need to configure any DNS server ? I feel the host name lookup is failing. Also there is some issue with the configuration as well. . I am really not able to figure out.

I am unable to connect through the LAN mode as well.
DNS you can try 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 ( google )
present dns I did not check airtel or bsnl.

    Try MSS 1360 and MTU 1460 .
try entries in PVC0 and enter random values in PVC2
    remain on line.
    try LAN mode first.
We can change Firmware no problem.

    Copy/Paste ipconfig /all
    ONLY LAN mode entries.

    Hi Essbebe,
This reply is from the BSNL connection through the Beetel 450 TC1 router . I deactivated PVC2, and configured PVC0 with the 0/35 for VPI/VCI, configured the MSS and MTU provided by you. I didn't configure the DNS IP as provided by you. Below is the ipconfig o/p for the LAN. Hurray we have successfully configured the LAN now. Lets fix the Wi-Fi. Thanks a lot for your inputs.

    Red face

I am unable to edit the Authentication Type, SSID is set to Airtel. WAP2 is set to TKIP. WDS mode is set to off. When I search for WI-FI networks I get the following.

    1. Airtel - Asks for (Username/password) - Unable to browse.
    2. MGMT - Asks for password (Default 0987654321) - Unable to browse.

Yes when I choose the SSID 2 it looks similar as the one provided by you. When in SSID 1, it has Airtel with non editable option of Auth type. I need to use Airtel Wi-Fi as the wireless connection to browse not MGMT right ?

I am using Windows XP Professional version 2002 SP3. WDS appears on the page but is set to off. The ifconfig /all o/p for Wi-FI, now here starts the problem. Why is it picking from the 192.168.1.* network ? It should have had 59.92.243.* IP address right ? Correct me if I am wrong.

    Essbebe,
I ahve already seen that video. The only difference is that your Broadcast SSID is off, mine is ON. YOu are able to modify the Auth Type I am unable to. I think its the difference in the firmware that does it. There is not much change as per the config is concerned.

Problem could be in your computer set up.
    Recheck windows zero wireless configuration.
Airtel if no key is visible it is open unsecured.
MNGmt wep key 0987654321 should work.
Airtel web site is not opening now. for firmware will try tomorrow.

Megaupload link is lost. Website closed.

PM IP again. for final check .

PM Sent. What is zero wireless ? Sorry for being dumb here. Both are not unsecured. Airtel asks for username/password, I provide the default but its not working. For MGMT the default WEP key is fine but unable to browse.

I don't think there could be a issue with the Windows Wireless configuration. I use this wireless setup and connect to my office wireless, it gets immediately detected/connected. Similarly Laptop is able to detect there Wi-Fi networks but not able to connect to them, but at least the LAN is up and running. Thanks to you Essbebe.
