Thread: Help me decide between BSNL boradband and Reliance Broadband UL

I am about to take a new connection. There are two options: 750 UL from BSNL and 549 UL from Reliance. Please tell me which one is better.

I am not having a BSNL landphone connection. Is it too difficult to get a BB connection without one? For documents, I have Rent Agreement and Passport copy.

Reliance is applicable to those who look out for value for money.

I took a reliance broadband connection about two days back. Everything went smoothly until the connection stopped working within 12 hours. I made a complaint request and it took the technician about 27 hours to come here and verify the fault. Besides they provided me with an old / used modem - saying that this is the company policy now. I have no idea when that modem will stop working.

I have not yet disconnected my old Airtel BB connection because I have my doubts about the reliability of this new reliance BB connection. Throughout these years, Airtel BB connection has always been stable. They gave me new modem + land line. Even when it goes down, the technicians reach here within 45 minutes and fix it.

Please remember that Airtel BB has no strong presence within Trivandrum (or Kerala in general). However, reliance has been in business throughout the years in here and the situation still remains pathetic. I just got tired of the 256kbps post FUP speeds of Airtel and thus wanted to test other ISPs in Trivandrum.

Do you see the vast difference in between how these two companies handle their customers? Always take informed decisions. I would recommend sticking with BSNL / Airtel. If you are willing to experiment with fate, opt for a Reliance BB connection.
