    Hello Guys,

You have to use the pppoe option to configure it and then create a diler on your system to access it.

    Regards

Have you guys managed to configure it? I am in need of help to configure the same. I have been trying it from afternoon with no success. I know the mistake must be small. Some one please post detailed steps.

Am planning to get one DG834G myself. Is this a bad decision? I don't see any solutions to the configuration issue. Please suggest. I have a few hours left to get it.

There is no reason why it shouldnt work. Where ever you buy it from ask the shop guy if this works with dataone or not.

If you do buy it and are not able to configure it please post screenshots for everyone to see where things might have gone wrong.

As far as I know this one doesnt have a usb option so you might wanna look into that aspect before you buy.

Here is someone using it and has given step by step info : AppleGrew's Mind: Netgear DG834G Wifi Router: Review plus some configuration tips.

So I guess there are no issues.

After some googling I had found the way to configure it on the day I had posted earlier. Anyways, thanks for the link. But I am not able to use open DNS as mentioned there in the link. If I use open DNS, my router doesnot get public IP from BSNL.

@ashraya apts, have you tried the step by step instructions in :
India Broadband Forum > Indian Broadband Forums > Broadband How to>Setting up Netgear DG834G Router.

Try and let us know how it goes.

    a) Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
    b) Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

    Default Reduced bandwidth speeds

I know this is a very old thread, but in case someone is still watching, here is a problem I have.

I followed these steps and got the internet to establish, however my download speed went down by around 50% (from above 1000mbps to about 550mbps) compared to the Huawei SmartAX MT841 modem (and I think the upload speeds also went down). In the wizard, I didn't have India as a choice for the country and not sure if something didn't configure well because of that. Anyone has any idea what could be changed to improve the speed? I want to use netgear as it has the built-in wifi and has some of the other useful settings that I need (e.g., DDNS).

Unhappy Unable to connect BSNL Dataone with NETGEAR DG834G v4

    Hi,
I have purchased NETGEAR DG834G v4 from London, and trying to connect to BSNL broadband network after bringing it to india.

I have plugged in ADSL (RJ11) pin into modem which is connected to Phone line and LAN cable pin (RJ45) into LAN1 port which is connected to my laptop.

But I am not even getting a sign of a local area connection which is saying not connected.

Do I need to run any CD to install drivers for this modem/router ?

Please NOTE I am not able to connect to "192.168.0.1" from my browser after plugging in the lan cable in any of the 4 ports given in the modem.

    Please revert.

    Thanks a lot,
    Pratik
