Unhappy Port Forwarding.. Modem: UT300R2U.. OS: Windows 7

    Hello,

I changed my plan to 1350BB from Feb and when I checked the torrent speed, it was about 390kB/s-400kB/s. But Utorrent tests indicated that "Neither NAT-PMP nor UPnP is enabled. Check your preferences".
Also, the icon at the bottom indicates that "No Incoming connections. Unless the icon turns green... ". The torrent which I tested was Ubutnu OS. But then, sometimes, I see variations in the speed. It reaches 380, then comes back to zero, then gradually rises back to full speed then falls down again... So, I don't know if its the torrent traffic or my connection.
Another thing is that the speeds have never reached above 230-250 when I download anything from the browsers.

For UT300R2U modem, I know that in order to forward the ports, I need to change DMZ host to the IPv4 address of my computer. And I've seen that IPv4 is usually 192.168.1.2. However, when I checked mine, it is 192.168.0.101 and I am not able to change DMZ host into this IP. When I do it and reboot the modem, everything changes to the factory settings(or the bsnl settings.. idk).. So, when this happens, the user name changes to "multiplay" in the advanced settings and I've to change that back. Even the DNS changes back from Google to some other stuff, and the DMZ resets to null. So Am I missing out something here? Is this the way to do the port forwarding?

I tried using the software from Portforward.com but it doesn't have UT300R2U listed in it. .. So, I need some help with this.

    Thank you.

Check in your modem tr_069 client is enabled. if so disable it.
    SAVE /Mangement SAVE/Reboot wait for 2 minutes.
try again. Multiplay should not appear again.

Probably your model may not have Under Advanced Options

    192.168.1.1/main.html
NAT Virtual server /port triggering options.
    DMZ will be seen. confirm.

Yes, I had seen that in one of your posts and I disabled it.. I'll let you know soon after I try changing DMZ host again

I see only DMZ under NAT.. Anyway, I'll try to do it manually as shown in the given link below, however I don't know what modem I should choose when it has only two modems listed under UTStar in the software that I download for forwarding.
    And, thanks a lot.

I did it again. I set up the static IP, but then on the router page if I change the DMZ host, it goes back to "multiplay" even if it is disabled under "management". The DMZ gets changed to 192.168.0.0 ..

    What should I do?

In the modem go to MANAGEMENT settings
Backup/SAVE current setttings to say C:/My Documents/multiplay modem
    RESET to factory/BSNL defaults.
    Make menu settings again.
Check DHCP range. (LAN menu say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10)
    Disable TR-069 client.
Port forward option without using DMZ.
    SAVE REBOOT.
    Feedback.

I followed the steps like you've said but whatever changes I make with the multiplay disabled, it changes back to bsnl settings and goes back to multiplay again. So to get it back working, I have to keep it enabled, and change user name and pass.
And I lost you on "Port forward option without using DMZ" ... Do you mean, I should follow the steps given on portforward.com?

These are the settings when it goes back to multiplay. Otherwise, the default gateway is usually 117.192.*.* and I use google DNS.

    Oh ok..
No, I don't get connected to the internet at all. I have to change in advanced settings WAN.. There in the first tab, I click "EDIT" and change the user name and password to my name and pass.

I enter 192.168.1.1 to connect to the router page. Under WAN page, I use my name and pass and internet works.. And when I check the "management" settings, I see "multiplay" is enabled.. BUT, when I disable it and reboot the modem, I get the 10.239.6.1 IP and connection doesn't work.. When I see the WAN page again, it is MULTIPLAY!! and under "management", The multiplay is enabled automatically!!! So, For internet to work, I go to the WAN page again, and put my user name back!! and reboot modem again. After doing this it works fine.

    Where is Upnp?
