    Smile BSNL 750 UL plan Speed Query

    I am having 750 UL plan and this month's 6 GB limit for the 1 Mbps speed had been crossed....
    I'm using Windows 8 Consumer Preview... The UI task manager in that is almost completely different and many details are shown in that, one of them being the things in the attached image...
    The Receiving speed during downloads in about 1.7 Mbps but the actual speed is about 60 Kbps, the usual speed we get for the allotted 512 Kbps speed...
    Can anyone kindly give me an explanation for that... 324234.jpg

    surprised no one has replied to this earlier..>!
    it has apparently been upgraded to 1mbps... its no longer 512kbps... and on select downloads u will get even higher speeds... hence the 1.7mbps ...! it wont last forever.. so enjoy it while it lasts..>!! and there is no down limit... its still a Unlimited...

    with all d competition out there... BSNL decided to beat them down good..!! they have the resources that the others dont.. so they r finally using it..

    hmm n windows 8... looks nice.. but im goin to wai8 for the official one to release..

    I think task manager is reporting the highest speed achieved.....It may be before the FUP..you would have achieved a maximum of 1.7 mbps down..

    This could be a bug in the software...since it is in the Beta stage..

    If you are getting 512 kbps then its fine..

    For me Speedtest.net is showing Speed of 1.50-53 Mbps whereas while downloading I get speed of 57 to 61 KB/Sec. I'm using Opendns.

    Your speed is OK.

    1KB=8kb

    So your download speed of 60KBps is equal to 480kbps which is a normal download speed of your plan after FUP
