The only time I ever used a bsnl connection was at Punjab and It took me about half an hour to connect, It was the bsnl's dialup connection called netone or something not too sure about that but I couldnt manage to open even the google home page with it so you can imagine what sort of impression I have got I didint vote here as I dont have a bsnl broadband connection.

I never used BSNL broadband either. I used BSNL dial up though. And it gave me experiences similar to what you gave above. I used Youtelecom, hathway and Asianet. Out of those three hathway is the worst. Right now I am using Asianet and is getting pretty good service from them.

    Come on dude!!

Read the post properly before jumping to conclusions. I wrote those things about BSNL dial up. And I know from my friends who use BSNL broadband that it sucks. They always complain that they do not get service for 3 to four hours in the morning.

Bsnl broadband is good till you don't need customer care and this has been my own personal experience because there is no other option in haryana in few places.

    I vote it 8.

    Pros:
    1. Relaible connection
    2. Speeds as promised
    3. Value for Money plans

    Cons:
    1. Depending upon area/exchange, could take lot of time for connection.
    2. Helpline sucks. Better have friendly relations at the local exchange.

I rate it 10. As BSNL is the only Broadband service provider in my locality. But I am not rating only because of that. The reason for rating 10 is it is providing speeds very nearest to their promised speed. The BSNL customer care in my locality is very good and I did face much trouble in this. On the other hand I used Tata indicom Plug to surf. The promised speed is 156Kbps. But It gives only 25 - 30 Kbps. I do not know about the Broadband service of Tata. And regarding their customer care I can say that (Specially in my case) They only told me that the problem is with my PC where as I told them I have tried that on three different PCs and 2 Latops and the results are same.

6.High usage rate for limited user also no proper upper credit limit.
    7.Very poor customer care.

BSNL is rocking when everything is fine but it's become difficult for few user when once any problem start.

intotal agreement with u all ................. speeds are good and are upto the mark as promised by BSNL but the only thing bad about them is their very very very poor customer service ............
if it works it rocks but if it doesn't it doesn't even move like a snail it just stops .......... and there u are in the midst ........... and while it comes to dealing with the customer care department you find yourself as a dead man ..........

    Default BSNL is the best

I am almost a new user to BSNL BB as I got my connection only in Dec 2008, as far as my experience goes BSNL service is best among others. In my office we got MTNL, you, Hathway, et al. all are good when there is no prob in their network. when there is a problem, BSNL is better than the others as BSNL got the best infra then the others in our country. When I will get the bitter pill from BSNL!!!!
