    Post Need to change old BSNL supplied Modem

    Hello,

    I have an old BSNL supplied modem ( nearly 6 years old).
    I cannot use any wifi devices with it so now I was thinking of getting a new one.

    My question is;

    1: do i need to ask BSNL to provide me one?
    2: My son is abroad, so can i ask him to get one for me and which one?

    Thankyou all for help.

    God bless you all

    You may enquire at your nearest exchange whether BSNL can provide wifi modem.
    Else u may buy any good wi-fi modem from Belkin, Netgear or d-link.

    Just speak to local BSNL guys. The normally have agent who buy, come to your place and install the modem. That will be more easy, I presume. Just make sure it is a good brand like Dlink, Belkin etc

    You don't need BSNL's permission or whatever.

    My old BSNL provided modem stopped working, so i got myself a NETGEAR N150 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router for 2.5k..

    Netgear has this feature of easy setup with the help of a CD.
    I think anyone can install it, without the help of BSNL.

    He is an old person, that is why I suggested it. No worries, just pay them a few hundred rupees and everything is fine.
