    Angry Wonderful BSNL Broadband

I am having BSNL telephone(No.24812906) with Broadband connection. When the voice works the data doesn't and vice versa. Is itn't wonderful? I think the BSNL has also taken a policy not to allow their subscribers to enjoy uninterrupted connection for more than three days in a week. I open my PC only to find either the broadband not working or it not working at all for hours and days. Any number of complaint, the BSNL people never mind. It is not like private operators where they are paid on the basis of the number of connections they procure. So they (BSNL) are not not bothered whether a subscriber's connection works or not. Is changing the ISP is only solution?

In India if you want uninturepted internet connection, the only option is to get atleast two different connection so atleast one of them will be available at all times.
I have got three of them now.. Sify, mtnl and a reliance data card

    Default change in isp

we are using bsnl since 2 years. although we were facing connectivity probs it is ok with us since we dont use net for downloads. if we want to change isp for better connectivity what happens to the bsnl modem ( rs. 2000) which we had purchased during installation. we are having bsnl home 250 plan.

You have not mentioned "which city/town".

This problem is peculiar. Broadband is provided using DSL technology. In DSL data and voice operate at different frequencies and hence the same copper wires can provide both services. I would advise you to have a splitter at each of your telephone connection.

If broadband is itself not working for days together then I would advise change of ISP; not otherwise. Also no need to mention your telephone number. Just an advice - keep your private information safe.

If you are facing this problem then i think the best part would be to go to there head office and talk to there head manager and if he is also not worried at all then just sue them.

    Here's a small checklist:

Check whether the first telephone line entering your house form the pole is connected to a splitter.

Take one of the output of the splitter to the modem and the other to the Phone. I think it should work.

    hi netzone.

I take time to explain the basics of the BB

in the exchange both data and voice and bundled together and is sent throught the same copper pair.
in the customer premisis this is seperated by a device called as splitter which is basicaly a low pass (for voce ) and high pass (for data) filter.
if your connection is done in the same way then there is no prblem except that now the spiltter might have been damaged which can be replaced for a sum of Rs50.00 at the office or u can buy an ADSL splitter in the market.

I find most of my customers using multiple paralles in each room and when i say this concept they dont accept but some time later this type of problem do cropin.

Now regarding the poor quality , the cable that BSNL has laid years ago will always be battered and damaged by each and everyone be R&B , wter works ,drainage and much more, so when the number of joints inreases in a cable , the quality of the cabe will definitely decrease ,this causes poor connectivity
at the same time check out how many capable people are vailable for handing the BB not many in BSNL staff are of 10+2 and they can't handle it
BSNL have provided broadband but have not taken sufficient staaff to handle it or capable of handlng it.
