BSNL plans changed : Free calls only within BSNL network

W.e.f 01-01-2013 free calls offered by BSNL for various BB plans are for within BSNL network only. You will be billed if you call any other network.

Prior to 01-01-2013 this was applicable to Chennai users only. Other users(rest of India) had free calls to all/any network. Now free calls facility is for BSNL-BSNL usage only for Chennai & rest of India too.

If it is true, it appears to be, it is outright cheating by BSNL ! ****** (expletives)

Heyy this is very bad !!!! bsnl ne inform bhi nahi kiya,,,kitne log internet pe bsnl broadband ke plans chk karte he jo unko pata chalega !!!

That aint good...They are having high losses these days..thats making them do this...

I am from Gujarat & using "BBG FB COMBO 500" plan. In which bsnl provides 175 units/minutes free. Ever since after reading this post a few days ago,
-> I quickly tried to check it on bsnl's website. But unfortunately the website looks out of order completely (isn't opening for me)
-> plus I have tried to figure it out via customer care service. But they had no answer &
-> the local officers were also seemed in a dilemma.

Free calls within BSNL network only is for all broadband plans.

They had mentioned in the bill send prior to this change atleast, in my case.

Heyy mere January ke bill me to aisa billing nahi hua !!

I also got didn't get any discount on my calls. Paying 450 extra now

One question, do these free calls apply on BSNL GSM STD also?

My January bill is increased by Rs.18, must be the calls made to non-BSNL networks !

Aww Its really very annoying news. Though i took the land line connection for using Broadband but still i was able to take the advantage of free calls by making some calls to my friends & relatives.

I'm from chennai. After this change, im getting 2000 rs! im gonna surrender the landline!

Today I met with bsnl customer service (kolkata circle) about this debate.
They told:
Free calls for BSNL Broadband user can use only for bsnl network. But,
Free calls for BSNL Non-Broadband user (only landline holder) can use at any network.

Without notice this is 99 % cheating. They should mail/call/sms us for this chenging. Inspite of haviing the right to chenging plans/tariff/charges are reserved for BSNL, they should not do it.
