Default SIEMENS C2110 modem does not connect to Internet

    Hi Friends,

I just got a new BSNL broadband connection and they have given me a Siemens C2110 modem. I have Vista Home Premium on my laptop and I am having an issue connecting to the internet. I can access the modem configuration pages and have also setup the Bridge Mode with appropriate settings as told by the BSNL official in charge.

BUT, when I create a Broadband connection through in-built PPPOE, it gets stuck at 'Connecting through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)' and then shows connection failed with Error 815 and also asks to input the correct Service Name in the connection properties! I am not sure what this is about.

Now I would like to know if anyone here has successfully setup his SIEMENS C2110 modem to access the internet on Vista? If yes, then I request you to kindly write the detailed steps to establish an internet connection through this modem on Vista. I am trying since the last 2 days but haven't gone past the connection failed screen Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks n Regards,
    Vaibhav

This is an update to the problem I was having.

The problem has been SOLVED. There was an issue with the phone line. The Link(yellow) light was continuously blinking and that is why I was not able to connect to the internet despite the correct configuration. So for everyone having the same problem please make sure the Link light does not blink. Also verify that the LINE and ADSL wires go into the correct ports/sockets.

However, I am having another problem. The LINK light starts blinking every night around 11pm and keeps blinking until the morning. Does anyone else face this issue? It does not blink even once before 11pm. I have checked everything, even turned off every light in my room to check for line interference, but no luck.

@Rock_daring - did u ever experience this problem my friend? Please let me know.

I am having a real trouble installing the C2110 modem drivers on my PC running Windows XP SP2. I want to format my hard drive and so need to know how to install the modem drivers without asking for help from BSNL who charged me Rs.250 through their next bill, the last time I asked them.
Pease read the full problem here (Problem installing Seimens C2110 modem drivers).
A solution would be highly appreciated. Please help me soon.

    Thumbs up

Hey happypotterfan, you don't need to install any drivers if you have a LAN card in your system. Just connect the LAN cable from the modem to your PC's LAN port. Then just open your browser and goto 192.168.1.1 and use the username=admin and password=admin
Follow the usual procedure to configure your modem for bridge mode and create a new broadband connection in network connections. Thats it!!

If you DON'T HAVE LAN port in your PC:-

Just connect the USB cable to your PC and the Add New Hardware will run. Enter the driver CD you got with your modem and then follow the wizard to install the modem drivers. If it asks you to search for drivers, select your CD drive and goto the XP drivers folder. Click next and it will install automatically

I hope you got your answers!!

One more thing- check your Device Manager for any already installed modem drivers. Expand all devices and uninstall the USB modem drivers if any.

I also think there is a modem removal or uninstall utility in the driver CD you got from BSNL. Check it throughly.
