You are getting descent speed. Anything above 150 KBps is good.

    1. Mention your modem - model and make

    2. Start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

    3. Post your SNR and attenuation values

    4. Try this

Average speed should be 150 KBps + to be termed as good.. 100+ is just average...

Are you getting same speed while downloading files directly from the websites?

I guess you need to do some tweaks in the Utorrent (if you are actually using it) or download the healthy torrents with many users. Search the forum for tips and tricks for optimizing the Utorrent.

YES. If you are in Home 500 plans . ( one plan 1.5.GB)
try to switch off modem at about 0155AM then restart again around 0205 AM
This will avoid overlapping recording of downloads ( chargeable and free d/l)
Also switch off modem at 0755 AM

Chargeable units is total chargeable units. It is excluding your limit. ie,if the chargeable units show 1.5 GB and your limit is 2.5 GB, you are well inside the limit.

The DNS Server address you provided slowed my speed...

I tested at dataone website and it gave above 256Kbps.

When I removed the setting of DNS, I got Speed 601Kbps

Don't go by BSNL speed tests. Try speedtest.net
