    Default Strange problem ....BSNL Internet question ....

    Hello Friends,

    We have BBG Speed Combo 2799 plan at home (we basically switched from BB Home Combo ULD 900 sometime in Jan 2013 but I dont remember exact date). Basically it covers 60GB of upload + download.
    Looking at the selfcare . wdc . bsnl . co . in /irj/portal I cannot find when is start-end date of this monthly plan.
    Eg: Its starts from which date of the month? as I want to monitor usage for a given month.

    Looking at "Broadband Usage Details" under "Unbilled Usage Summary" we don't see start-end date or even remaining days.

    When I goto Service Provisions -> TRACK MY SERVICE REQUEST
    I see :

    HTML Code:
    Request Category:	Modify
    [B]Created Date:	18-Jan-2013[/B]
    Status:	Service Order Completed

    Facility                                     Action Requested
    BBG-2799-COMBO-MONTHLY	        Provisioned
    BB-900-ULD-COMBO-MONTHLY	DeProvisioned
    So it seems my BBG Speed Combo 2799 started on 18-Jan-2013.
    Now my question is ....
    How do they give us 60GB/month if my plan started in middle of month.
    Did they consider
    1> 18Jan -31Jan (and caclulate the usage according to this) OR
    2> 18Jan-18Feb?

    Something interesting here....

    When I looked at "Broadband Usage Details" :
    We can "Enter From and To date to view selected Broadband Unbilled Usage Data"
    then "View Usage Details"

    So I see below info :

    18March - 3April(today) :
    Downloaded Vol in MB - 15837.09
    Uploaded Vol in MB - 10061.82
    Total Vol in MB Excluding Night Unlimited - 25898.89

    01March - 3April(today) :
    Downloaded Vol in MB - 28008.63
    Uploaded Vol in MB - 17975.57
    Total Vol in MB Excluding Night Unlimited - 45984.14 --->> this matches with data under
    "Broadband Usage Details" -> "Unbilled Usage Summary"

    So based on above :
    1> Does that mean the bill cycle is from start of month to end of month?
    2> If so, why BSNL is still adding APRIL month's usage in March month?

    The questions you have posted are best answered by Bsnl themselves. I have always advised members here to go for unlimited connections even if that means getting slower speeds to make sure you don run into heavy bills.
    When you started your connection the allocation of your 60GB would have been on pro rata basis in my opinion but then again you are better off asking Bsnl.

    1. Monthly Billing cycle for broadband subcribers is generally from the 1st date to the last date of the month.

    2. April month's usage doesn't add up in March month's usage.It may be because the bill is generated at a date between 8 to 11th of every month. So, till that time, the usage is classified as unbilled, may be due to the inherent designs of the billing systems or procedures.
    Suppose the bill for the period of march is generated on april 9th. So up to April 8th, if we select dates from 1st march to 8th april & give option for Unbilled usage, it will show the entire usage in that period as unbilled usage, but billing is done from first to last date of the month of march once the billing server generates the bill on 9th April. I hope with this instance, it is clear now.

    @juhi.0211

    Get an unlimited connection like I said in my post above. Its just not worth keeping an account of your usage. It is best to have an unlimited connection so you dont get charged more then the set amount every month.

    I have no idea what to make of the usage you have posted above. I would say you have used that 1197mb during the day time above your alocated data for your plan and you will get charged extra for that. This is why I have always advised every one to always go for an unlimited data plan.

    Your plan is night unlimited plan
    Your total is not required for billing purpose.
    Check the usage excluding night unlimited.
    That is the billable usage or day time usage.
    This usage is free upto 2560MB
    Above 2560 MB is billed @ 30paise per MB

    The 750 plan is renamed as ULD-800 now - charges are Rs. 800 (fixed) per month + service tax. You get 1 mbps till 6 GB and 512 kbps afterwards.

    As regards to your previous queries:

    - unbilled means unbilled, i.e., the usage that has not been billed to you by an invoice

    Downloaded (MB)- 4471.92 Uploaded (MB)-630.79
    Total Vol.(MB)-5102.71 Total Duration-78:27:12
    Chargeable Units(MB)-1197.11
    - From the above, it means that you have used 5102.71 MB in total (day & night)
    - presumably you have a night unlimited plan (happy hours from 2 AM to 8 AM)
    - so whatever usage was during the happy hours is not chargeable
    - the usage from 8 AM to 2 AM is chargeable and you used 1197.11 MB during this time
    - what you will be billed for is (your actual usage - free usage limit) per MB; zero if you are within limit
    - you still have to pay the plan fee
    HTH.

    @just4kix:
    Excuse me, but I think there is a little correction :
    - the usage from 8 AM to 2 AM is chargeable and you used 1197.11 MB during this time
    Since the usage from 8AM-2AM(Night Unlimited) is free or not chargeable as mentioned in the plan, so (5102.71-1197.11)MB= 3905.6 MB has been used in the off-peak hours.
    1197.11 MB is the regular usage which is countable in the 2.5GB data quota.

    @juhi: as per data provided by you, it seems that you have opted for BBG FN Combo 600 plan with 2.5GB data i.e., at the end of the month if your chargeable units are not over 2500 MB, you won't be charged anything extra for data.
    and there is no way to check the number of calls in the free limit for the current month.However for previous months you may check the same from selfcare portal.

    Thank you for correcting my typo. Yes. You are right. That part is free usage and will not be charged.
