Arrow help with askey dynalink rta100+modem configure ?

I have a similar problem but with a askey Dynalink RTA100+ ADSL Router/Modem and am connected to punjab bsnl dataone brodband. I also recently purchased NETGEAR WGR614v6 / 54mbps wireless router. I too have followed the instructions in the setup wizard but i cannot connect to the Internet even via the lan or usb ports. I tried to bridge the RTA100+ ADSL modem, which i did following Dynalink's instructions but im not sure if it is fully bridged. When I did bridge my Dynalink modem, and connected my netgear router, I could not gain access to the IP config page even for the router (which is the same as the dynalink modem 192.168.1.1). I was wondering how I fully bridge my dynalink RTA100+ modem and how I connect to the internet from my dynalink modem through my netgear router and then to my pc via LAN or usb (and then hopefully wireless). Please help me because the guys at netgear could not work it out and said the router was faulty?i purchased from australia. plz help me.(HOW TO CONFIGURE) thanx

    Hi Kuldip,

First a question: Are you able to connect to internet by directly connecting to RTA100+ via USB? If yes, are you sure that you have selected the "Bridge" option. Many a times we think we have setup a bridge whereas the actual connection is PPPoE.

When you use RTA100+ as a bridge, you cannot access it's setup page when connection thru WGR614v6. To access the bridge, connect (hardwire) your PC/Laptop directly to the RTA100+ (using LAN or USB) and then got to its setup page (192.168.1.1 or whatever). Ensure that the settings are correct and you are able to connect to the internet.

Once you have ensure that the bridge connection is correct and you are able to access the internet, then turn your attention to WGR614v6. Configure this wireless modem using the PPPoE method (BSNL username/password is required). I do not know this router but like any (standard) wireless router it should also have the 'Status' tab or option. After configuration check whether the WGR614v6 connects to RTA100+ (Status page should be able to display an IP address).

A BSNL tech person once told me that BSNL has problems with Wireless Routers other than Linksys; but I have also used Airlink 101 AR430W without problems.

Finally, upgrading to the latest firmware helps.

    Hi Kuldeep,

It appears that Dynalink RTA100+ is an old modem and not even compliant with ADSL2, ADSL2+. Can you email me the setup guide to pbhalerao@yahoo.com?
