Question Pls HELP- WAN/Link LED Problem

    Hello Friends,

I am very frustrated with a problem I am having since I got my BSNL connection 2 weeks ago. The problem is that my BSNL broadband modem -SIEMENS C2110 does not work during the night. It works only from 6am till 5.30pm. Now here is what happens during the night:-

-When I turn my modem ON, the Link LED (WAN LED in other modems) blinks slowly for a while, then it suddenly blinks very fast and then becomes stable. Then after 15-20 seconds it starts blinking slowly again, then faster and then becomes stable for 15-20 seconds. This process continues all night long! But the Link LED becomes stable around 5.30am or 6am

I know it takes time before the link LED becomes stable but I fail to understand why does it start blinking again once it becomes stable? Does this happen when the BSNL Dataone Server is down? Or there is something wrong with my phone line? The lineman checked my phone line from the exchange to my home and also checked for line issues on the exchange computer. Everything was fine but still this problem persists Anyone has or had similar issues as well? I really need help on this as I am unable to utilize the 2am - 8am unlimited downloads on my 500 plan!!!!! The load shedding times are 6.15am till 8.30am -so its useless even if my connection starts working at 6am

Also can anyone please confirm if this is not a BSNL server issue? What happens when the BSNL server is down? Do any of the LED lights on the modem blink?

Thank you for reading my post! I hope someone replies

LINK is between your computer and your Modem and WAN is between modem and BSNL server. So I believe if BSNL server have problem then WAN should not blink.

    VaibhavK,

This seems to be a DSLAM port issue in the Exchange. There's nothing wrong with the BSNL server.

@VaibhavK Contact your exchange or the nearest NIB office. They can help sort out this issue.
