    Hi Guys,

I just wanted to know if i can access my dataone username and password on my Uncle's computer (at his place). My PC crashed and its gonna take a while to fix it. I have a 900UL connection. Can i access my dataone username and password on his connection??? What settings do i need to change in the modem?? only the IP change and Username , Password change is enough?...Does BSNL port bind, if yes i dont think its possible right??

Its not possible to use your user name and password from another phone line as bsnl uses port binding. It was possible earlier but not anymore unfortunately.

You need to get you computer fixed or you would have to borrow someones PC to use your BSNL internet connection as you can use it from your landline only. I also faced similar problem and couldn't use my broadband for a long time.

Port binding is done for bsnl.in domain users. But it has not been implemented on a wide range. Possibly, Newer connection will be port bound, when the connections are configured in the backend.

    Admin, Your views???

Port-binding is done on all BSNL Broadband connections by default (not only for the bsnl.in subscribers). U need to given a written request to disable port-binding.

Its not done earlier. I know few of my friends and colleagues who still use their friends ids to logon to the network. It has not been implemented completely

Yep. Its true that it has not been implemented all over India. Depends upon the officials. In kerala port-binding was implemented by Dec 05 itself.

No chance... Only the newer ports are bound.. I can show proof!!!

Only Business and High end plans in the older servers are bound.
