Rep Power: 0 | Prash, Fianally I able to connect to internet thru wireless. One problem was the wifi router wasnt getting reset, even I applied. I happen to read that apply reset at the at time booting. That helps me to reset the router and I reconfigured everything in router. But now I have to set up security also. But I dont remember whats the ip set for router. How can I find that. Once I am able to access the config page, I know how to do that. Thanks a lot for all the helps Asif |

Rep Power: 2 | if you enabled DHCP in your router then type ipconfig in your command prompt and you should find a gateway ip address.. that would be your router ip address.. |

Rep Power: 0 | DHCP is enabled in BSNL modem only. I have disabled DHCP in wifi router. Thats what you suggested me to do. DHCP in modem is set as 192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.10 |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Prash, First off, thanks for the excellent doc. Thanks to it, I was at least able to troubleshoot a bit more, and got a better understanding of how this works. But I am still not able to fully resolve. I'll walk through the steps first, so maybe you can help identify exact trouble spot. 1) In the UT-300R2U wizard, if I set 'PPPoE/PPPoA' and enter the uid/pwd (i.e. bypassing WRT54G), then I am able to connect fine. That tells me that the uid/pwd are ok (I wasn't even sure about this earlier). 2) Next, I set 'Bridge Mode' in the UT-300R2U wizard, and the dial-up/broadband Internet connection as described in step 2 of your doc. Once I start this connection, I am able to connect to the internet. So far, so good. 3) Once I complete step 3, I am not able to connect to the internet. In the WRT54G, for 'Local IP Address', I tried both 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1. For 'Starting IP address', I set it to '100' I get the IP address I expect (either 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.2.100, depending on 'Local IP Address' specified). But not getting a connection to the internet. In true Windows spirit, I tried restarting everything - UT-300R2U, WRT54G and my comp. No luck. Any idea what's going on? 4) I assume after setting up WRT54G as described in step 3, there is no need for the dial-up/Broadband connection created in step (2). Right? TIA, Prakash P.S: I saw a different suggestion in one of your posts. I'll probably try that next i.e. setting PPPoE on BSNL modem, turning on DHCP on it, disabling DHCP in WRT54G etc. |
